All 31 Killers Ranked Least to Most Intelligent (Dead by Daylight Updated Tier List)
Ойындар
Hey everyone, today we’re going to be doing a least to most intelligent ranking. This is one I wanted to revisit, partly because it was one of the more polarising lists the first time round, and also because we have new characters to add to the list. We have 5 tiers. Let’s get into it.

Fun Fact: In a Halloween comic, when surgeons were dissecting a victim from Micheal’s killings they noted “The stabs were almost surgical” meaning Micheal knows the best place to stab someone and how fast it takes for them to die.

The way I’ve always viewed Michael is that he is evil in its purest form. Just killing with no regard. @@Dinker27 I mean Wesker is from the 21st century and that alone makes him more experinced than an alcoholic drug addict, an Opium war war criminal and a sadistic serial killer doctor with a spiked dildo. Not to mention his brain was too cooked anyway. So obviously Wesker would be the most sciency scientist, but Clown will always be the thiccest boi.
Nemesis only does "dumb" things because Jill wouldn't last 5 seconds, otherwise. It's just the classic "I'm gonna toy with the protagonist until they find a way to defeat me" trope. Just look at when he killed Tyrell. He could have easily killed Jill but decided to "spare" her instead.

If you consider Trickster’s tome a soft reboot of his original lore (like many people do), then I would say he’s quite intelligent. He sends fake death threats to himself to get Yun-Jin off his trail, pretends to be kidnapped when he’s almost caught and has many contingency plans.

@BrightWulph
Жыл бұрын
Same, going off base lore alone yeah Trickster get's pretty lucky and hides behind his status as a K-Pop Idol. Although, it could then be argued that his ego lets him leave behind "clues" kind of how some killers will "brag" about their kills as well. Jack the Ripper's letters to the police comes to mind when I think about killers who like to gloat. In his tome, he displays just how extremely intelligent he is, often playing to people's emotional empathy (like when Yun finds his sampler and Trickster spins a sob story on the fly how "after hearing the screams of his dying bandmates he's been "fascinated" with human screams and how it's his way of dealing with PTSD."" ) and when caught he knows exactly how to make himself look like the victim.
I don't understand how wesker is not at the top, isn't he legitimately like the smartest person to ever walk the earth in RE lore or something? In DBD he's literally called "The Mastermind" and I'd say his work on umbrellas projects outclassed blight's catalogue of 34 serums (of which 33 failed)

In the original Halloween, Myers is actually subtly implied to be quite intelligent. There are many scenes where he not only stalks his victims, but plays on their fear to trap and outsmart them. The Myers in DBD is the original Myers too. I honestly thought Myers was way more interesting before he was just another immortal slasher killing machine.
1. Nice to see you're comfortable with updating past lists. I would put Amanda and Rin in above average intelligence though. I could see Amanda discussing machinery/tools with Trapper and Deathslinger. As for Spirit, she likely pushed herself in school to bury the thought of her chronically-ill mother back at home. Her lore doesn't do the best job of establishing her as her own person, it's heavily focused on the tragedy of her parents/Yamaoka bloodline. 2. As for Dredge, I wonder how they'll expand upon it if it ever gets a tome. Would the story be from the POV of a random Ottomarian or possibly the female journalist that was trying to expose Otto? Who knows.

I would say Pinhead is probably highly intelligent. He’s obviously not a doctor or anything but he’s so well spoken and clearly educated. He also solved the lament configuration himself, which takes a lot of intelligence. Even though the in-game mechanics would make you believe it’s easy.
Doesn't Wesker have all the PhDs and huntress doesn't understand kids need food to not die, I'm sure clown knows that people need food.
Personally i'd say Wesker is the most intelligent as his scientific work led to various viruses capable of mass destruction and high casualty losses and uroburos threatening a mass genocidal epedemic. This to me exceeds Carter's in-depth analysis of the human mind and Merchant's economic and engineering skills which made her rich, powerful and a deadly foe to be acknowledged.
I think Sadako should be put up a little higher. She understands how to use her powers very well, so that is a bit smart. She has learned to control them; that's how she made the deadly tape. I'd put Amanda a little higher too. Though Pig was very reckless, her skill in creating traps (sort of like Deathslinger's creations) showed that she is not a normal person.

2:25 You could argue for Trickster being at Above Average due to the fact that he was able to hide or manipulate the screams and cries of his victims in his music. He also had to experiment with different parts of the body and know where to strike to make his music. Also in the retcon for his lore, he was very cunning with him doing many other things to get the trail off of him He also didn’t go to school much because of him being taken for training to be an idol so I get why he may be in average.

I wouldn't say Trickster's tome is a retcon, but more of an expansion that goes into just how meticulous he can be and how the clues he leaves behind are specifically for Yun to discover. Because let's face it, Yun, even if she did cotton on to what he was doing didn't really act until it threatened her career.
I personally think that Albert Wesker and Talbot are the most inteligent here also if we include DLC I think William Birking would be on top with them. It would be nice to have dlc characters too

Ah yes William birking
@TheForsakenSentry
Жыл бұрын
Definitely! Birkin is incredibly smart.
On the topic of The Shape, judging "purely" off the original film, Michael never appeared incompetent in any part of the film, unless being caught off-guard a few times by Laurie in the final act counted as incompetence. After spending fifteen years in Smith's Grove-which, according to the first entry in the Chaos! Comic, detailing his origin, consisted of Michael feigning docility and unresponsiveness and then terrorizing his fellow patients, completely fooling the staff, barring Loomis-he managed to singlehandedly break himself and numerous other patients out of the sanitarium, then looped around Loomis and scared Nurse Chambers out of her car before driving back to Haddonfield-murdering a truck driver and stealing his coveralls on the way. Then, throughout the afternoon, he stalked Laurie and her friends, broke into a hardware store and pilfered for tools and weapons undetected, and stole his sister's tombstone before later creeping on Annie as the parents of the kids she was babysitting left the house and commencing his nearly entirely successfully killing spree, only being warded off by the combined efforts of the unshakable Laurie and Loomis' six revolver rounds. He appears *hyper*-competent if anything, especially for a mental patient that spent the better half of his entire life holed up in a hospital, isolated from even his peers.
I agree almost entirely with your placements. Nemesis literally doesn’t have free will of its own, making it impossible for it to be intelligent the way the human killers are. I will die on this hill. I would also argue that Wesker is the most intelligent killer. Not only did he create the T-virus, he also had a doctorate in Virology by the time he was 17. On top of that, he assisted Birkin in the development of the G-virus while being undercover as the leader of STARS. All the while he was plotting to screw over both Umbrella and his STARS team. RE5 kind of gives him the appearance of a comical villain, which is why some people may not realize how masterfully he played all his chess pieces up until that point.

@Lena Carey that's exactly what happens, he (and birkin) take full credit for Marcus'research and the t virus despite not creating it :) you're all good!
I rather think Wesker should be higher than Skull Merchant, since he not only became extremely rich in his own right but also... almost took over the world, helped create one of the deadliest viruses in the world, and created the deadliest virus in the world on his own... Not sure if I would put him over Blight or not though to be fair. The rest I agree with.
Wesker Is the smartest, because he Is the tipicila vilian that Fully relais on a science for powers, creats Uroboros, works on almost every bio weapon from umbrela And he has been made to be smart ( this especially way mention on one cutscene/flasback in RE5).
I still feel Clown needs to be a tier higher. It was established in his lore that he was a fairly liked individual and blended in perfectly despite his homicidal tendencies. Being able to craft a persona to fit your goals is frankly a smart thing to do.
I think Amanda should be in the Above average category. It's some smarts to make a death trap that's fool proof. Many of the inescapable traps she made take a good amount of engineering. The chain/nail bomb trap. Making several bombs takes some brains, and chaining someone in ares that aren't fatal (not including the jaw one) takes a little knowledge of human anatomy. Then the angel trap, designing and making that intricate trap would require a whole lot of planning and knowledge and even of she didn't make it she did rig it to kill the victim. Rigging a trap itself would need some level of knowledge. And not to mention the times she outsmarted victims of the games in Saw 2, and how she survived the traps in Saw 1 and Saw 2. Yeah she needs guidance and gets persuaded but doesn't mean she isn't dumb.
This is definitely a hard one, cuz what counts as intelligent, is recklessness a sign of unintelligence, are we speaking purely from a how educated they are, how much does street smarts count for, we are talking about killers so them having fight iq should count for something (ie. The oni and huntress) so its definitely not an easy one to rank
Clown is actually very intelligent. He s able to kidnap people and made homemade potions. He also needs to use his mind to catch survivors because of his power.
Wesker is more intelligent than Blight. Just see how Blight turn himself as a monster and Wesker who try create a supersoldier, but try to stay human.
Blight is not Talbot, he no longer retains his humanity or intelligence.
@vee2878
Жыл бұрын
blight is indeed still talbot. he actively kidnaps and experiments on other killers as well as being smart enough to know how to use the serum. he is very intelligent, even when inflicted with the blight, as are the other killers. his intelligence doesn’t decrease, neither do the other killers
Given that the doctor believes in torture as an effective interrogation method, which by all accounts it is not, I don't think he is all that smart. Book-smarts maybe, but that's barely a fraction of what intelligence means
i actually wanted to do some quick googling on how smart nemesis actually is and to be honest he's both incredibly smart and not very smart at the same time, this is because nemesis possesses much higher intelligence than other tyrants but not humans but that doesn't mean he's stupid, within 4 months he's shown to understand the entire English language and how to say basic words most notably stars, follow out specific routines set by his superiors at umbrella, know how to handle advanced machinery properly such as aiming and firing rocket launchers, rationalise and deduct etc as mentioned before this was all done before even reaching 6 months old so even though he's pretty dumb right now, his ability to pick up, adapt and understand everything around him is at a much much much faster rate than humans

Hi Movs! I’ve been thinking of this tier list for some time but don’t know where I ask for you to cover it. I wonder if a tier list on how well you personally think the killers would fare in the trials of the entity’s realm. With tiers like: No kills, 1 kill, 2 or 3 kills and 4 kills. I don’t know if you’ve already done this but was just curious.
this is very good, and I love your videos.
I'd say Blight should be at the bottom of the tier list. After becoming "The Blight" he starts to behave as one of the most animalistc killers in the whole game, catching his prey using focus and instinct rater then strategy and planing ahead. Talbot on the other hand. Yeah, he should stay up there on the top of the tier list.

True. Not even COT Michael has ever really "teleported". There are a few scenes like the one, when Laurie looks out the window at home and Michael disappears from her sight in two seconds without moving at all. Or that he gets the engine of the car started and drives away, without Laurie hearing it, even though only a window is there, that can't fully block a sound like that of a car engine. And Michael only gets defeated, because the protagonist always gets saved by Loomis and/or the police randomly appearing almost out of nowhere (except for H6)
4:15 dude lucked the fuck out with that Kobe

I love your videos they help me! ❤
I think the Knight is less charismatic, but more “chivalrous” .
I agree with your ranking of Knight as above-average. Tarhos doesn't do a lot of "intellectual" things, but he clearly has strategic intelligence as a warrior and social intelligence to gather followers, and in his tome lore he does dispaly a bit of a philosophical side. It's an extremely nihilistic philosophical side, but a philosophical side nonetheless. Spirit, I would place higher than you did. It's easy to miss, but her base lore specifies that she was studying at a private university. Japanese private schools are *extremely* selective, so Rin attending one shows that she's at least intelligent enough to pass a difficult entrance exam. To me, that would place her solidly above-average. That said, I think her intelligence has taken a backseat in the Entity's realm, what with her becoming a rage-consumed onryo. Dredge is the one here I would probably rank lower than you did, because I'm not entirely sure it has a *mind* in the way we conceive of such things. It's an amalgamation of human suffering that arose from the dark thoughts of the Ottomarians as orchestrated by Otto Stamper. I don't think it really plans its actions or does things for a purpose or even truly *thinks* at all; it just does what is in its nature.
I think Plague was ranked higher than she deserved, I'd say she's about Average intelligence. I think is was more about her conviction and religious fervor that allowed her to climb so high. Probably very charismatic but charisma isn't necessarily tied to intelligence.

I would rank her lower, because babylonian era. If we are comparing the killers as human beings, Adiris would not know what something as simple as glasses are. So i dont get how a babylon priestess could be ranked higher than a 2021 modern man like Trickster. Like what aspect of intelligence are we measuring? I assumed overall since Demo was ranked low because animalistic and Bubba also cuz dumb
I actually think Hillbilly is pretty intelligent considering he makes his own tools from scrap
Nemesis can use rocket launchers and destroy potential target escape routes as evidenced when he blows up the chopper.
Can you do one of those for cruelty, please? Could be interesting
I think almost getting caught doesn't necessarily say anything about a killers intellect, rather them having trouble controlling themselves and thinking ahead and of possible consequences if they for example kill one person rn. It feels more like lacking impulse control which a lot of psychopath have. They can still be very intelligent
You should do a list of survivors who wouldn’t hate each other and would not get along
Wow,hearing her backstory Speed read like that makes skull merchant seem way too "mary sue-ish". I get this is a "scary" game but suspension of disbelief can only go so far. There's child prodigies and then theres....how azymovs read her backstory here.
I wouldn't put huntress and twins at average mainly because like Bubba they've just been very confused their whole life and are detached from the outside world and how things work when it comes to people.
i really think amanda should be higher on the list, after all shes built most of the contraptions in the saw movies once jigsaw succumbed to his illness and they show a high engineering level so she deserves more credit :]
Do you think you might do a video on how smart each of the survivors are?
Remember the dredge is a elder god
I disagree with clown being in the not very intellegent tier, clown was said to have excelled academically and knows how to use different concoctions and elements to make his potions he also knows when to show restraint when chosing victims in his backstory, hes not wesker smart but hes at least a couple tiers higher than he was listed
I think Clown has a bit of smart since he planned on getting this dude finger, according to his Tome lore.
hey azhy, got a small question: are you ever going to continue or redo the 1v1 series? probably not since its a lot of work and it might be very tiresome for you but im just curious. take care of yourself! :)

Probably not unfortunately, I liked those videos at the time but I don't feel too interested in revisiting them anymore for now.

@@AZHYMOVS aw man, thats a feel bad :(
We need to see Nemesis' SAT scores.
Wasn’t spirit top of her class using their school uniforms
Regarding Pinhead's intelligence, that might depend on if you're talking about book vs movie/comic. It's a bit hard because to some extent, they're three different people. The one we're dealing with is Elliott Spencer here, though. Even down to comics and the movie, Elliot has would probably be above average intelligence. He was a captain in the British Army, and was considered a great gentleman before the Battle of Flanders. So he had a charismatic air, knew how to keep up with his weaponry. When he became Pinhead, he likely gained otherworldly knowledge on top of his experiences as a human. He's had decades to practice and perfect his craft.
For cenobite it completely depends on what movie you pick
Nemesis is smart in the Comic books
Putting skull merchant over Wesker is wild
Did you miss the scene in Re3 when nemmy pulled a rocket launcher out and aimed it so it hit the big mascot head
I have to disagree with Nemesis, the thing literally knows how to use weapons right away without training, ex. His rpg and flamethrower. He is very smart at tracking Jill throughout the game, even when he turns into his second form. I believe he deserves a spot in green tier or somewhere higher

Funny tough because that weopons were made only for him
Nemesis is way smarter than that. He knows how vehicles work, knows what helicopters do, can wield firearms and heavy weaponry, track prey through a massive city overrun with bodies, plan ambushes and set traps. He also plays with his prey, which is usually a sign of sapience. He's above Huntress, Bubba and Clown easily, probably slightly behind average intelligence humans like Legion.
I think you should redo the strongest killer lore wise/killer battle royal, but this time include legendary skins with that add a character. That way you could include Hunk (aka the doomslayer of the re universe), looksee, and others.
Take a shot every time something is said about intelligence. Probably not a good idea if you wan't to stay sober.
I would argue blight is as intelligent as nemesis, only because after the entity messed with blight, the serum dumbed him down to being a mindless monster
I think what others mean by nemesis being intelligent is the fact that it’s his intelligence in like a subjective way. He uses predictability and different weapons in the games (both og and remake) but I think he fails in anything basic and worthwhile. But I do think he should be higher on the list (not by much though, he is still low tier)
How do you put death slinger or plague in front of pin head that makes no sense
All of them were smart enough to hone their ability to kill people to what is nearly an art form, yet none of them were smart enough to not draw some form of suspicion right before they got taken. The only exceptions are the ones that died themselves, and even some of them (looking at you, Nurse) did anyway. Egotism is a form of brain damage, as I always say.
I don't think clown can be considered less intelligent than huntress. The literally has a child's mind and doesn't understand the concept of feeding the kids she kidnaps. I'm pretty sure clown would know people atleast need food.
Nemesis is actually one of the smarter tyrants out there, he fails at doing his job by killing Jill because he likes to toy around with his prey before eventually killing it because he wants to try out his new weapons and just make his job more fun lmao
I think with how the human brain is the most complicated thing that we know of, and how nigh impossible it is to actually understand. Being able to control and manipulate it as easily as the doctor does puts him WAAAAAAAY above everyone else :>

I agree. Herman is a genius. He would dissect his own brain if he could to see how smart he is for himself.

I feel like wesker being here is just not fair, like uh,Herman is smart but wesker is just leagues above.

Wisdom vs intelligence?
Demogorgon isn’t the only non human killer. Nemesis is technically not even a human to begin with. It’s body is a modified version of a human body, but it’s entirely controlled by the parasite that is it’s tentacle. Any human thoughts or consciousness is long gone in the Nemesis
You need to do a street smart version next
Cool video and I love the content. I definitely agree with most of this. I always thought wesker was intelligent. There's his domination factor and manipulating ppl but he's also a virologist. He's clearly book smart too. I just always thought that was good. Ppl who can start biowarfare are always terrifying
I would've put demo in above average because in the show they seem to know how to hunt and track very well
Anyone else surprised at dredge's placement?
7:17 when you for the people someone and they go afk. I hope the afk person steps on a lego
Number 1 should easily be Wesker, he's a genius scientist who helped develop multiple world threatening viruses, that alone puts him above every other characters
Yeah, I think when Nemesis is called a “highly intelligent bioweapon” the important word is Bioweapon. Nemesis is highly intelligent- *for a bioweapon.* compare him to a normal zombie or something like a licker, and yeah, he’s pretty smart. He can follow orders, use weapons, and say at least one human word.
