I actually looked into psalm 22, and it's actually one of the prophecies Jesus fuffiled. Yk how Jesus spoke hebrew/aramaic, and one of his last phrases on the cross is eli, eli lama sabatchani, meaning my God, my God why have you forsaken me. In Jesus time they didn't have verse numbers or chapters so to reffrer to a verse you said the first verse of that chapter, it happened to be that psalm 22vs1, that verse is also eli, eli, lama sabatchani. Psalm 22 also talks about a man being despised, so it would make sense for Jesus to reference this verse bc it is about him. (no hate I just thought that was interesting)

I love and memorized Ps 63 and Ps 24. I've been praying and singing the poetic vision of the psalms for 7 years on the Divine Office app. I love Psalm 22 also. It is a "U shaped psalm" in that it goes down in the pit so to speak and then as you keep reading Psalm 22, it goes up telling of the hope we have in God. Some people believe Jesus was telling the people at the Cross, it was not despair because among despair is the hope and strength we have in the Cross. So it was cited to show them hope and the Jews song the psalms so they likely finished his words in a praise of hope. You should listen to this guy on KZread singing Psalms 22. It will bring tears to your eyes. He is teaching how to sing the Psalms and sings Ps 22. Fun fact. There's also more Psalms that many don't know about. Psalms 151 is in the Orthodox church however *about* every other branch snd sect of Christianity does not. There are more psalms that they dont accept either. (Orthodox church) Psalms 152 to 155 are additional Psalms found in two Syriac biblical manuscripts to date and several manuscripts of Elijah of Anbar "Book of Discipline", first identified by the orientalist librarian Giuseppe Simone Assemani in 1759. Together with Psalm 151 they are also called the Five Apocryphal Psalms of David or the "Five Syriac Psalms". Interesting right?

Pretty cool memory but my mom read me Psalm 91 a lot when I was Kidd she told me to always remember it and I would eventually learn it so well I could say it without the text. I didn’t like going to church til I was around 20 and now I know the true meaning of that psalm. Very beautiful to see the lord has been keeping me safe at every moment in my life.

10:45 Psalm 87 contributes the opening two lines of "Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken", and the first verse of that hymn has a modern significance that not a lot of people appreciate: 1) It's a diss track against the Nazis... 2) ...to a tune that they claimed as a theme song... 3)...and the diss track existed before they did.

I also have tried to put pictures to as many psalms as I can. None of my pictures are memes. I've tried to use either biblical stories or biblical symbols. Because the structure of psalms is often chiastic the central idea is often not to be found in the first or last verses. I also have playlists so that each of the 5 books of the psalms can be studied - a task that takes a lot more than 11 minutes and 5 seconds.

Try singing the Psalms morning and evening with Paul Rose on KZread. I've been singing/praying the Psalms daily for 7 years using the Divine Office App. I recently discovered singing the Psalms with Paul Rose (sing the hours) on KZread; he sings them beautifully in English and Latin. You will love this if you like Gregorian chant.
