Pierce Brown wrote another masterpiece with Lightbringer! Even though it’s still brutal, it felt like we got to spend more time seeing the characters connect, which I loved. Cassius definitely has one of my favourite character arcs in the series.

I loved the Pet Sematary audiobook! It was narrated by Michael C Hall and the voice he used for Jud was great! It made me laugh a lot but it also made me emotional. Losing someone is so painful and the urge to bring them back, despite the consequences presented in this book, are very strong. He uses that paranormal lens to show you through his classic Stephen King way that you can’t bring them back in real life. You have to live with the grief and no amount of stalling, or bringing them back from the dead, is going to help you. You’re just prolonging the inevitable. It’s a painful book but it’s a hard truth we all must face no matter how it’s delivered. Definitely a must read even if I made it sound depressing 😅 I wanted to start it over the second it ended!

Pet Semetary was AMAZING! The ethical and moral questions that arise with an opportunity like Louis had…cannot imagine. It’s a crime against nature what happens in that book!!

@@iangubeli I agree! Part of me wished King pulled back a bit and made the ending more of a hard lesson that the main character had to endure. I expected the ending being the way it was but it was such a solid book and then complete chaos at the end. I still loved it but I didn’t necessarily need that over the top horrific ending. But it is a horror book and it showed the desperation of people and the terrible things they’re willing to do. So that’s why I still loved it!

WOOO LET’S GO IAN! Reading a lot of my favs lately and soon. Light Bringer is shaping up to be my book of the year and man, that ending🥲 Pet Sematary is also one of my favorites for spooky season and for King, so much so that I have a tattoo for it, so I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts, cuz boy, is it depressing😂 and The Shining too! probably my third favorite King and even better than Pet Sematary in my opinion. Also glad to see you’re gonna read Swan Song. I’m part of the crowd that thinks it’s better than The Stand. Would also recommend Boy’s Life by McCammon; it’s so King-coded with the small town coming of age, wrapped into a murder mystery. One of my favorite books ever. And that Joe Abercrombie guy is pretty good, too. Wisdom of Crowds was my favorite in Age of Madness so hopefully it’ll crack that five star for you🔥

I loved The Inheirtance Games and The Final Gambit books are awesome and amazing and you need to finish that series. My library didn’t have available The Hawthorne Legacy so I jumped to The Final Gambit and since I had an idea about what book 2 would be about I had no problem jumping to book 3 and I was right about book 2. But now I am debating whether I should go back to read The Hawthorne Legacy ? Is there anything else in book 2 that I might have missed by skipping this book ? 😅😊

It’s hard to answer that without giving spoilers away😂 it’s a really fun book, but since you’ve read the third book, you may not want to?? If you reread the series I totally recommend reading the second book!!

Awesome vlog ‼️ I am on book 2 Golden Son and I am only 60% of way through and it is so far my favourite book in this series. And I have recommended this series to 2 people. One bought the book and the other got the audible version. 😊 what’s your Goodreads so that I can follow you ? 😅😊

@@iangubeli thanks. I am on the last 5 chapters of Golden Son and I keep having to rewind because so much is happening and I don’t have the book yet and I don’t want to miss out on the little details. And I got someone at barnes to buy Red Rising just from raving about Golden Son.

curious, do you have something against sex scenes? personally I don't mind them and even enjoy them from time to time but every time you come across them is seems to be a mark against that book

Sexual content just seems unnecessary to me as a plot device. It takes away from the overall feel of a novel for me. I think sexual stuff in general is a “behind closed doors” type of thing. It’s private. I don’t know, maybe I’m a prude, but I prefer no sexual stuff in my books!
