She didn’t say she hates EDM, she basically said she doesn’t want to be put into a box of just a certain style or genre because she has influences from all kinds of music. Very misleading title.

who cares, she's a rich kid who never worked a day in their life that one day said, "dad I wanna be a dj". Alice is a fraud. If she was real, she'd stream working on music, because right now if you were going to try proving she makes music, you literally couldn't. Same goes for apashe, Rez, Marshmellow, Zomboy, Apashe, Aoki and many many many more. Aoki's a good example because he said he struggled & then it leaked his dad was the founder, owner, & ceo of bennihanna. Best advice, don't support any edm artist who doesn't have a video showing off their talent.

So, none of you watched the video, then... She said EDM has a different meaning in Australia. That meaning is what she doesn't like. I like her stuff, of course it'll never be able to ascend to the level of commenters you all are...

yeah edm has been used as a blanket term for electronic music for a long time... and she even admitted she doesnt know what genre to call herself. but it seems this is an australian thing.. or a hipster thing as you said... well we need a word because i spend way too much energy trying to explain to people what kind of music she plays

Alice was born into the 1%. She's never worked a day in her life & all of her music was bought and paid for. If you don't believe me, prove to me with a link she makes her own music. Something concrete you could use in the court of law. You can't. Why? Because she's a fraud.

why? she's a fraud. prove to me she makes music with a link. As in, show me a video of her showing off her passion making one of her songs. She's just another classic tale of someone born into the 1% never working a day in their life flying show to show who one day says "dad, I wanna be a dj". Don't support dadkids because their fame was paid in stollen dreams. Her dad paid her entire way. Just remember this, anyone born into the 1% have a 99% at fame before you, me, anybody. Alice didn't even know how to drive until she was 22. Why? Because she had a driver her entire life.

So basically i think she meant that, atleast at the time of this interview, Australia is embracing their local Artists a whole heck'ofa lot more than (they did) in time past.

She doesn't like the word EDM, which makes sense. She doesn't to put a label to her music because that will limit her in terms of creativity. It would put her in a box and maybe force her to play a certain type of music rather than just spreading out. Forbes made a huge misleading mistake on the title of the video because, of course, she loves electronic music but she says she doesn't like the word 'EDM'. Nowadays, some people refer EDM to new Justin Bieber songs which I think she is trying to escape (the commercialized music).

we (hipsters not hipsters) hate the term "edm" because we were around for electronica music and knowing just what sound to put in which sub-genre of electronica music. it was around 2011 or so when blog-house and bro-step kinda fucked the game up.
