@@TacomaTraveler when someone techniques is very high, it looks like they are doing something very easily, then we use the word effortlessly. Which means thousands of hours of work behind the performance. You better asking what I mean then give your idea.

I have searched and found no trumpet masters (including Andre', Botti and Marsalis) that can cross over and cover so many genres with such grace, feeling, precision and integrity. A treat for the ears!!

She is definitely one of my favorites. So musical. The jazz charts sound a bit like what Wynton played on Hot House Flowers. Great writing.

Wonderful variety of excellent music. She is amazing!

Alison Balsom is so very amazing in this concert, and Gustavo Dudamel was the perfect conductor for it all. Fantastic!

I would like a concert with both Alison and Chris Botti, on the same stage. I would just like to hear their two sounds, to me both are marvelous, Alison in a much wider genre but, just because someone cannot, or wishes to not, cross over a wide range of repertoire, does not nonetheless, mean that person does not convey an enormous sense of beauty and sound. Look around, how many truly wonderful trumpet players do we have performing?

At last, I've been waiting to here Balsam play Jazz, and when she does, it's like she's playing a classical concerto. Just hasn't got that swing, Dissapointed. Although I have to say the first number she played (sounded like a Film score) was very good. Great tone, and very smooth. Please cut the classics and learn to play jazz. You could be the female Maynard Fergusson.

David played the harp for King Saul in the book of the Psalms in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible over 2000 years ago.

the orchestra is a bit too slow!!! What a pity!!! Move on, please!!!

A real hodgepodge of a program. Not coherent,, pretty disjointed. But what a great trumpet players. Clearly more comfortable playing Baroque.

Knowing how she played before, i was quite disapointed, some kind of commercial soft-washed, often much too fast played version. For me she was one of the few todays players (and one of 2 female) doing this cristal-clear strictly mathematical but slow perfect - but if needed also very rough approach the composers arguably intended. But this is rather a only pop-concert compared...

I've heard her better! She's rushing the crap over the orchestra

All the notes were played. That said, her delivery is fragile........short-lived breathing with a strange approach always unsetting and resetting the embouchure during the same passages.
