I was there for two days. Friday Day 10 and Saturday Day 11. I saw 5-10 thousand people on their knees during a prayer of repentance. I heard testimony confession from students turning away from sexual sin and confusion. I heard the word of God preached. I experienced revival. No one need worry. If this is not of God it will fail miserably. If it is of God, the fruit will bear witness. He is sovereign over this and all things. Lean not on your own understanding.... I worry some of the skepticism is actually lack of faith. Time will tell. God is in charge of this and all things and will use it all to HIS glory!

I was there multiple times and had the honor of being a prayer minister. It was real and very unlike other "revivals." It was so sweet and humble. No fireworks. Just folks eager to experience God's presence and to confess their sin. The administration did an exceptional job with all the decisions they faced. They were very reluctant to even call it a revival but we spoke about it as an outpouring of God's spirit. People literally came from around the world. I do not think that Alisa's assessment is accurate and I think her own personal perspective clouded her vision. God is at work!!

Thank you for sharing. Like many others who live too far away I've only seen the live feeds and various videos. In the feeds it appears to be a gentle move of the Holy Spirit. People are convicted and repentant, and turning back to God, although I'm sure there are new conversions as well. This is not some weird charismatic thing where people are barking like dogs and blowing at each other with holy laughter and such. This is a time and place of conviction. Preaching the gospel and other fruits will follow, if this is a genuine move of the HS. This woman's sole approach to authority appears to be that her father, God bless him, was part of the Jesus movement and she got saved through him, so listen to her. I'm sorry, but I do not see evidence of the Holy Spirit in her or her life, at least in this interview. I know this is going to come across as wrong, as all believers have the HS living in them, but perhaps what CBN News needs is to interview a "Spirit-filled" believer, you know, someone who we used to call "Born Again." Let's hear it from someone like that who attended this revival. And a final thought. I would think that a revival deals with reviving something already in existence, like breathing new life into it. It does not necessarily mean preaching the gospel at the source, because you would be "preaching to the choir." The saved Church does not need to hear the Gospel. They've accepted it already. What they need is a breath of fresh air, a fresh outpouring of the HS. This will result in good fruit, which includes the preaching of the Gospel to non-believers. This woman completely misses the point when she compares this to the Day of Pentecost.

I met a group from Ohio, two guys from Illinois, and an amazing couple From Canada that walked with me for an hour trying to help me find my car. People go there because they are hungry for God. They want/need and have a desire to be in the presence of God. Is everyone there a pure hearted person? No. We r human. Nobody there is perfect. And a place like that is exactly where they need to be. People are getting together to worship God. Its that simple.

" I'm not saying we all need to run over there. I don't think that at all. I think we all should be lifting up the movement in prayer and thanking God for any and everything He is doing and praying for those encountering Him and asking for wisdom on how we as a church need to steward the movement, and praying for workers for the harvest! Some will be called to travel and some will travel because they don't know how to know God from where they are but that doesn't make it scary!

@@diasporan4159 the best way to describe it is a scripture from the bible. Altho theres many I could use, this hit my mind first soon as I read your question. The bible says where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. The bible also says where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I will be also. People travel because they want to experience the presence of God. Can they do this in their own church, in their own car, In their own living room, sure they can. But, theres something about unity and being in one mind with people in a common place for the same reason. In times like this, it is edifying for people to see others praising and worshipping the God they love. Just like when people go to a sports game and all the fans are together screaming. It does something for those to have that unity. Same as a concert. Only we go to worship and praise and sing to God and not to humans like in sports and concerts. So its way more rewarding and beautiful. The Bible says let everything that has breath praise the Lord. I hope my answer has helped u. God bless you.

We had a move of God that looks very similar to what I see is going on at Asbury, 25 years ago. My experience was that those of us attending the services were blessed and had amazing encounters with God. But then when we were out and about living normal life we would be preaching the gospel to people every day. We weren't trying but it just happened. It was like we couldn't not preach because people would come up to us and start asking us questions. It was a mainly Muslim area and I would to a park to pray every day. Each day I would walk there and people would just stop me and start talking to me (something not normal for that place) an we would always very quickly be talking Jesus, some people hadn't even heard of Jesus before. I remember praying for 3 Muslim teenagers who had come to heckle me. As I talked to them they quickly went from ridicule to interest and longing. They let me pray for them and instantly they felt the gentle presence of the Holy Spirit. With eyes as wide as saucers they asked "what was that!" to which I replied that that was Holy Spirit. I don't think you can judge true revival by what is going on in the meetings but what is going on with the people outside the meetings. We had people criticizing us because they thought it was just emotionalism and there wasn't enough preaching, yet outside the meetings the people attending, were reading their bibles like never before and witnessing to the people around them like never before and we lost all desire for the things of this world like TV etc. But our critics didn't see that while they watched from the sidelines.

I went to Asbury at 2:00am in the morning I got on my knees at the altar and could not leave the floor until 9:00am. The Glory and manifest presence of God was so thick that when I first entered I was hit with a wave of the Holiness of God revealing the unholiness of me. The rest of that night is a blur of encountering the holy spirits power, crying out In full Repentance and surrender, and shouting for Joy at the realization of our amazing God and how real He is and what He’s done for us. He is Worthy of it all 🙌🙌🙌 He is REAL,and this is definitely a pure move of God. I would caution the skeptics to some degree, I understand we should “test the spirits” but once you see the fruit of the Holy Spirit if you keep questioning at that point then I’m concerned your outlook aligns more with the spirit of the Pharisees then the spirit of God himself... The Pharisees of Jesus’s time were so wrapped up in tradition and how they thought things should be that they legitimately thought (the Son of God) Jesus, was demonically possessed, The worst thing we can do as believers is discredit and doubt something so much in the name of critical thinking that we miss what God is doing. The Pharisees did that with Jesus. I caution you to not be so hasty in condemning what God is doing. God is definitely there and the holyspirit is definitely moving. The fruit is evident by the testimonies and the countless young people who are choosing to glorify Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior above all else . The last time I checked 1 John was pretty clear about the fruit that a believer who is of the right spirit will exhibit and one of those things is confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord. Praying for wisdom and discernment for all of us. May we not miss this move of God because of negative experiences, pride, in forgiveness or any other bitter root in our hearts. May God have mercy on us and give us the eyes to see what He is doing…

Know this. That peoples fruits will only truly show through time. The parable of the soils shows this very much. So I am going to continue to question. I have seen many people show immediate fruits then walk away and show unforgiveness to another believer months later. Testing the spirits is ok. This right here is very concerning to me. To be accused people of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is spiritual abuse and is no wonder why the whole church has little discernment. You should be careful in saying this to people. Because it has plagued my life and you just drove in that point again and it hurts me and others.

I imagine those 120 people in the upper room waiting for the Holy Spirit were much like the sweet presence the people are experiencing at Asbury. We absolutely should expect to see laborers released into the fields for harvest. It’s way too soon to expect everything to happen at once. BTW, we are emotional beings. If our emotions are not engaged we are simply robots. Enjoy the emotion of feeling God’s touch! Good point that all events like this are going to be messy because people are messy. For Heaven’s sake, something good happens and Christians have to be skeptical.

That's another misconception many christians have. If he does answer ? It's to counter the Arrogance people have in them. You need to understand that's based on Him, not you.

8:20 I’d also like to add that Jesus Christ himself can actually convict the hearts of the truth. He partners with us because he loves us, but he doesn’t need us to make sure everything is ORGANIZED and managed properly to our standards. The spirit of the LIVING God is far more effective and powerful then us to bring repentance and change. He is moving and I highly suggest we just say THANK YOU JESUS!! ❤✝️🔥🕊️ if HE can creat the universe I’m sure he can manage this revival without your help! ❤hallelujah

Simply the fact you go looking to judge an outcome is not a heart of seeking Gods presence! That’s not a spirit of revival! Spirit of revival happens in your heart when your pressing in to His presence! If your going to sit down and judge and say God go ahead and knock me out so I can know if this is real is absolutely the wrong spirit!! Revival happens within and she obviously was not pressing in and worshiping seeking with all her heart! That’s the heart of the matter He says when you seek me with your whole heart you will find me! Does anybody after hearing this she literally says added to her skepticism 6 min in the video. You will not experience revival with skepticism!! She’s not a seeker she’s judgemental! Emotionalism is a statement made by people who do not have a close relationship with God. Those who are not open to the moving of the Spirit of God. He ministers to us and heals us in our souls. What resides in our souls? Our will, our mind, AND our emotions! All of these things need healing and deliverance inside of us so that we can be healthier and walk even closer to God, to be able to walk in the love of God.

My first time in an evangelical charismatic church service, after making fun of the 'happy clappy's' and as an unsaved person, I was criticising in my heart during the worship, feeling "sorry for these obviously ignorant people suffering from emotionslism". Well... the Lord broke into my thoughts, spoke Very clearly, about this group of people being "MY people, now be quiet and listen" (!) I hadn't even read the bible yet at that point, but 'saw' Jesus as the pastor started his sermon, and became a devoted Christ follower within a few weeks. You are so right that being emotional in worship is not the same as emotionalism.

I watched via posted videos - as I’m watching this- I was unable to go in person. I saw the joy of Lord in their testimonies which moved me and my entire family to prayer - praising our Savior. With so much destruction and chaos in these end times to see so many people wanting to be with others worshipping our Lord - that is just true joyful encouragement! I do not see the joy of the Lord in this woman’s countenance. “Lord Jesus I pray that You fill her with joy, and Your peace that passes all understanding. If you have so much word and desernment be excited for these students that are having their maybe first time encounter with God. Remember God works and move differently all the time cause if you have experienced God in one, it's a new day and season. Embrace what God is doing through these students. Pray for them instead of being vocal and sceptical. There is going to be a move of God where is going to be 24/7 as it is heaven so shall it be here on earth. Without love we are nothing just love these students and pray for them. Learn from the other religions that stand together but sad to say Christians instead of celebrating one another will pull them down. Again without love we nothing. If you have so much of God join them and guide them. That's a true servant of God.

Like you, I viewed hearing this with some caution. A number of people in our church mentioned it and it has become a matter of prayer. Then I saw one of your first videos on it and that sort of tipped me more in favor of it being of God. However, what really pushed me over the edge on that score was when I heard Asbury's University President met with the board and decided to cease the 24 hour use of the chapel as well as stopping live broadcasting of the the revival. I'd heard that it began during a prayer time when a young man got up and repented before the other students. That confession seems to have started a domino affect based on 2nd Chronicles 7:14. President Brown's reasoning for limiting the hours at first was stated as an attempt to balance the needs of the students, spiritual and academic, and the use of the facilities. He later amended that statement by adding that he saw it as his fiduciary responsibility, which made it sound more like he was more interested in the bottom line than the spiritual lives of the students. While I could be wrong I call on all Christians to pray for the Board of Directors and Dr. Brown, that they will do what God wants done.

Guys.... we are observing this in real time through social media. For the first time in history we can literally make comments from around the globe right there in the moment. The Asbury movement has been going on for DAYS now, and I'm not emphasizing to highlight how long that is, but how incredibly short that time span is to be trying to examine the fruits as if they are supposed to be ready to view right now. It's like going to the grape vine with buds on it to complain that the grapes aren't there yet. At least give it some more time before proclaiming a lack of fruit.

24 hour worship service is fantastic. It's encouraging to see college students pressing into the Lord rather than abusing substances, hazing one another, and sleeping around. As someone who attended a Bible College with 5 chapel services a week and was also required to go to Sunday AM, Sunday PM and Wednesday night church I quickly experienced an imbalance of too much stage ministry and lingering around the altar and far too little hands on ministry outside of the chapel or church service. I felt all prayed up but with no place to go but back to another prayer meeting. I craved to go into the world. Yes, I was free to go there on my own, but it's better when Christians are on mission together. The Holy Spirit doesn'tonly fill us for our own personal satisfaction, but so that we can complete the Great Comission. God's people need to be mobilized for mission. I pray those who encountered God at Asbury are lead toward a great gospel mission.

We are told to test the spirits, to be wise as serpents yet harmless as doves. We are not called to be naive or manipulated. There is a balance.

@@wdcurry111 The Lord already has poured out his Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. His Holy Spirit is available to all who place faith in him. I have my genuine concerns for calling what's going on at Asbury a "revival" or outpouring of the Holy Ghost.

What’s to be skeptical about? People want more of God. These young people are desperate for Jesus and the presence of the Lord. Desperation is a sign of revival in my humble opinion. And this whole thing about emotionalism. When you see …….Rejoicing, joy, peace, hope, love, convicted, gladness, long suffering, patience’s, kindness, worship, praise, singing will equal some type of emotion… Today young people have been feeling depressed oppressed and told to rage and hate and to love themselves more than others … So I’m glad they are experiencing “emotionalism” (sarcasms). They need to experience the presences of God and if that makes them emotional so be it….

So much analyzing by leaders and individuals, and not enough PRAYING for true REPENTANCE and revival in this season. God doesn't need our help, and we will KNOW and SEE when His Presence comes. 🙏🏻🔥🕊

I believe this is heart felt. I believe God is stirring hearts and perhaps preparing people for His coming. I don’t think anyone would go out of there way to attend if they weren’t searching for Jesus and, with what we have been through these last few years, we are definitely in need of worshiping our Savior Jesus Christ. I’m so thankful to see this happen! Especially in comparison to seeing all the violence going on out there. Thank You Lord for opening the eyes of those who seek You. Thank you for everything you do for us. We desperately need You Jesus.

Only Jesus can change a Mess into a Message. Thank You LORD for all that you did for me almost 30 years ago on October 18, 1993. Some people in my family and I would say all of the friends said it would never last but that will be 30 years ago this year, and I never want to go back to my old way of life. I will follow Jesus all the days of my life and I will dwell in Heaven forever.

Amen!! Whether it is “real” or “authentic” or even “biblical” I just pray that the Lord draws those that are His and people will grow in His Word after the hype is over. It’s not bad to have an emotional experience with a lot of ppl but it shows who the true followers of Christ are when the crowds aren’t around.
