Of course Rich, I’ll be here until the end. I’m loving this teaching side of you. When you talk, it’s not a monotone voice and that alone keeps me watching. Your teaching technique is very good by the way you do the teaching a couple times so if we minutely missed something, we will catch it the second time. Keep them coming, I’m learning more with every video

One minor comment Rich. On mirror across a line the line doesn't have to be a tool path and can be diagonal or horizontal. Also to mirror across a shape just draw a line down it's center. Thank you for this review!!!

Several 'aha!' moments in this video. I recently learned that if I am in mm and type 10in in the size field, it converts the 10 inches into mm. Today I learned that I can do math operations in that field also! So many cool features I had no idea were there. Thank you for taking the time to show us and really explain what you're doing. Great video, thank you! Another tip I learned as a complete beginner is that my Lightburn was in "Beginner Mode" so I did not see the "set shape start point" button. If anyone else was missing this button, go into Edit > Settings and within the Display/Graphics section, turn off Beginner Mode (Simpler Interface).
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
3 ай бұрын
You should never turn on beginner mode IMO. It serves no purpose but to extends the learning curve.
Rich, I have learned so you I can't thank you enough. You mentioned something that I could have used yesterday, and that is how to find something that gets lost on the screen, I hope that sounded right.

Really liked this video. I appreciate you going back to this format. While the laser reviews and project videos have been helpful, this is the sort of thing that made understanding how to use an Ortur Laser Master 2 much easier. Without those videos, I would not have been able to make many of the things I have been building my small business on. Perhaps some of the project videos moving forward could demonstrate how these instructional videos can be used. Also demonstrating the difference between materials used and how important different speed/power settings are to achieve different effects would be neat. I'm working on my first substantial bulk order of 1000 anodized aluminum business cards and really looking forward to upgrading from LM2 to the Lasermatic. Your videos about the Lasermatic were very helpful in making the decision to purchase it. Also did the math on how long the LM2 was gonna take... Do you still have your LM2? Is there anything that you would use it for instead of some of the more expensive rigs you have acquired?
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
3 ай бұрын
Yes I still have most of my lasers, and once you learn how to use them, it makes no difference what laser you use. It's sort of like giving a mechanic China made tools instead of Snap-On. They will still get the job done, but maybe not quite as efficiently or quickly.
Great info, thank you. What would be a good example of how the starting point feature can be used.
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
3 ай бұрын
The starting point allows the laser to start a cut at any point within a shape, not just the first point. Works best when _reduce travel moves_ is also enabled. You might want this feature when you have multiple shapes within a shape to reduce the travel moves and time it takes to run the job Mike.
I do like the format, but I do enjoy how personable you are, too. I think you could probably snip enough content with everything you've already generated to create a master class. Do you make story boards for your show, or do you work off a bullet points/checklist? Just curious how you prep for a tutorial video...
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
3 ай бұрын
99% of the videos are, "off the cuff" James. Very little in the way of prep work.
Thanks for the refreshing video, Rich! One question a little off subject. My Lightburn (newest version) will not open to a full screen when first opening it. I can make it go full screen after it's open.

Mine too... it's always been that way for me Randy. I'll ask Jason about that when I see him next week.
Hi Rick can you help on the Lightburn screen where the cuts, shape properties, camera etc. you have 2 sections above one another ,I.e. cuts above and laser below. I just have one, how do I get 2 sets? Great video again
