Ok i saw your video on how you cut your panels. Now I no that Dremel is not the way to go using a scroll saw is much better and cleaner cuts. Thank you for sharing this video cause I always wanted to do this but didn't have the nerve to do so!

Can you make a list of all the parts you put in? I just got the r2 shell and I tried to do some research on how to built it up but it’s harder than it look… especially for me since I know nothing about pc lol

Hi! Congrats for you very nice job! I projects to buy next week an alienware area 51, and upgrade it on the futur. I want to try it with a i5 12400f, so this cpu can be OC with certain specials motherboards. Do you think the MSI mortar MAX B660m fit on the r2 case? This is an msi so it would work, but its a micro ATX mobo. So, can a micro ATX fit on this case?

I build my pc with this case as well and I went with air cool Noctua nh-d15 the temp inside the case is very good.

With The MSI Z690 MPG carbon motherboard you have. Were you able to successfully install alienware command center? If so are you able to change the lights on the case. Like the ones in the front and other side pannel?

Yes ther eis a custom Alienware command center available for download to be used on non alienware motherboards. Just google it and you should find it. I think it was called AWCC 4.8.25.0_A00

What did you do with the Alienware logo on the GPU?

Hi! I am just about done building my Alienware PC just like yours, but the front panel header (I believe that’s what it’s called) is not long enough to reach the motherboard, as well as the USB header. Did you buy longer ones, or did you do something with the I/O board?

​@@s20_ it's not the best but I had to get a power switch from another computer that was long enough to plug into the IO board. I learned that HP and Dell have shorter ones but if you look off brand, those are typically longer. My power switch on has two inputs (positive and negative ones) so I hooked those up to the IO and taped the switch to the back of the Alienware. Hope that helps, if you can't find anything let me know and I can try to find a power switch online for you.

How much was all the parts came out to ?

You are right! Now almost all cases are a box and there is no creativity anymore. Even the new Alienware cases are boring,

I stay on a classic base (1080 Ti, 16 GB Ram, 5820K) because I don't play a lot but the transparency of the case is something that I would like to achieve, without removing LEDS however. I don't know if you've seen the V1 Tech video which, to celebrate Alienware's 20th anniversary, transformed an Area into the ultimate gaming PC. No that will not worrk. Each new generation of CPU needs it's specific motherboard too.

Hello! I installed an Aorus z490 motherboard. Now I'm waiting for a 10 pin usb 2.0 cable to connect the input-output board, so that the power button and case backlight work. A question. Will I change the case lighting on my Aorus motherboard? or is it only possible on MSI?

Not sure I understood your question... The original lights on the case side panels and on the Front of the case will still work, if you install the Alienware command center back onto your computer. Somebody has created a custom Alienware command center which works on different motherboards than the original (msi) motherboard. Just google it and you should find it. I installed that version and I can still change my lights.

Mobi, I have a 2015-16 Area 51 R2, I updated the video cards but would like to update the processor. It is has the original Intel i7 in it. What upgraded processors are compatible with the system? It has the original motherboard with Bios version A14. Thanks for any insight and recommendations.

No, if you want to upgrade the CPU then you also need to upgrade the motherboard, just like I did. Any motherboard will fit.

By removing the old one and installing a new ATX one.... any ATX or micro ATX mobo will fit into this case.

Your temp problems is because your pulling hot air into the case. Put a good air cooler on and you can close your case back up.

I did reverse the 3 front fans and it made it worse, so no... Also it's better to pull fresh air from outside over the CPU temp. The warm air inside the case is not a problem as the cpu temp sensor is inside the aio closed loop.

@@lordkarellan7808 The air inside my case is already warm due to the 3080ti, so I opted to have the fans of the 360 Rad in a pull configuration. They pull fresh air from outside the case through the radiator. I could not mount the fans before the radiator due to not enough space/clearance in the case.

How did you cut out your panel??????????????????? AWESOM!

With a dremel... remove the panel and inner metal parts in the side panel, then just use masking tape to mark the cut you want to make. Then use dremel.

Hey thanks for the reply I just now marked and drilled holds and used mt big scroll saw! East had smooth now a bit sanding then lights! I love your build and the blue is what I am after!

@@steriltech63 my lights are corsair rgb stuff. Also 2 corsair led strios and all controlled via icue.

Only one exhaust fan… yikes
