A very interesting talk. I wonder why the learned professor did not refer to the Fermi Paradox regarding intelligent life in the universe. The Drake Equation needs to take into consideration the chances of life forming on the moons of planets out of the habitable zone. Considering radio communication as the only sign of intelligence is too restrictive. Quantum communication and radiation may also be considered plausible candidates. A fascinating subject to study

It is fascinating and at the same time , is it not a pure waste of time, energy and money. Because of the huge distances accross the universe , one cannot even travel even to the nearest Star.

@@mezhini You do have a point. But look a bit deeper and you will see something very different. Anything I can't eat, love or feel good about is indeed a pure waste of my time, energy and money. This is the narrowest view a person can have. It is the most selfish view also. I will learn nothing new as long as I am only worried about my pleasures and satisfaction. The same goes for humanity too. As they say nothing ventured nothing gained. The exploration of every frontier - be it space, deep sea, remote mountains, the atom or even our own inner self - is fascinating and helps humans understand that while we are indeed a tiny part of the universe, we are the whole universe in microcosm. I hope you can appreciate what I'm trying to say!
