Written by someone who has obviously never served aboard a combat vessel. We don't shout, we don't scream, and we certainly don't panic in the face of certain death. We do our jobs, we support our shipmates, we die with dignity, and we make sure that we take every one of the enemy with us that is possible.

Yeah. On these kinds of scales, even a crime on the scald of genocide could be considered reasonable self defence if the other side threatens your whole species/nation’s existence. Heck, that is basically the unspoken basis for the MAD doctrine. A full on nuclear attack would be genocide, yet it is considered self defence to wave around said genocidal arsenals.

Five minutes stretched into eternity. I had given my attention until there was nothing left to give, but the purple prose stretched on and on in an endless morass, as though I were walking the slow steps up to a courthouse where my internet history was to be exposed to the world. The narrator was amazing and even he couldn't put life into the squelching mess of a story. I looked at the timeline: fifteen minutes of runtime. It was enough. Other brave viewers would have to make the sacrifice. As my brain grew numb and dim I hit the final button which would halt the relentless torrent of words.

For sure if Humankind even thinks about starting colonies on other planets outside of our solar system, we better have a huge navel fleet to protect them. There are alien species out there, that are hundreds of thousands of years old. We better ask them if it would be OK to put colonies on certain planets.

Clearly who or what-ever wrote this has no understanding of physics in the vacuum of space. Destroying the ship's engines wouldn't stop it. Inertia would carry it on its same trajectory and at its same speed. Such a pathetic "colossal mothership" to be so quickly and easily laid low by fighters within minutes. Sounds like the Death Star except there was no weak point. It makes little sense.

Who'd stop mid battle to open comms and ask what wasThier intentions were? And the admirals transmission what was the point of that....the doomsday weapon not useful against ships, surely they'd have known that before the mission? Waste of a ship, crew and weapon due to a stupid plan that was no plan to begin with, waste of resources that couldn't be replenished and better used elsewhere, wouldn't the weapon be primed and ready at the begining? can tell its an AI story due to all the grim this and grim that, the aliens use genocide and the humans are on the brink of extinction and the humans won't reply inkind? sorry not a good story this time.
