Avi Loeb is the Frank B. Baird, Jr., Professor of Science at Harvard University, the longest-serving chair of Harvard’s Department of Astronomy, founding director of Harvard’s Black Hole Initiative, and director of the Institute for Theory and Computation (ITC) within the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He also chairs the Advisory Committee for the Breakthrough Starshot Initiative, and serves as the science theory director for all Initiatives of the Breakthrough Prize Foundation, as well as former chair of the Board on Physics and Astronomy of the National Academies. Author of eight books and over a thousand scientific papers, Loeb is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, the American Physical Society, and the International Academy of Astronautics. In 2012, Time selected Loeb as one of the twenty-five most influential people in space.

Avi is a trooper. I can't imagine how tiring it is going on different shows/podcasts to reiterate the same thing over and over again. It may be more effective if he could send our a PR to all the media and hold a conference with Q&A at the end instead. But if this format works best for Avi, then all the best! He's awesome. A true scientist. He puts others such as Neil Degrasse Tyson to shame. But I know he wouldn't want us to think that way about others.

Are you a fan of aliens? I am a geophysicist, lawyer, mediator in retirement to focus on the exploration of consciousness and the nature of our reality. I find Dr Loeb to be a bold, even courageous and intelligent explorer of our reality, therefore, although I’m old enough to be his father, he is a hero to me. Thank you for this well done, informative interview.
Awesome that you were able to get an interview with this man! I love how his mind works.. It is easier to catch flys with honey.. My question? I can not wait to see what his findings will create next!!.. Will there be a 2nd or a 3rd trip?.. I also worry that New Guinne will close off that part of the oceN and the next part of the journey be hidden from the rest of us...

He's kind of wrong about the 'interact with humans' so far there is no known method to travel between earth like planets. Other solar systems would be normal and maybe within our own but not from outside. And what's with asking this question for the 10,000th time? Its been addressed DECADES ago. Its like asking 'Was Ronald Mcdonald a clown?' YES its that stupid and redundant.

There is no space, gentlemen. The only space is in your imagination. Thank TV for that. If the heliocentric model is true, how could we see Mercury and Venus in the night sky once we are looking to the other side of their orbits? Also, if the earth attracts the moon and the sun attracts earth, why the sun cannot attract the moon when it is between the sun and the earth? It's not equilibrium because distances in orbits will vary. If the moon creates the tides in portions of water, why no lake experiment that?! One must wonder why CGI takes place every time somebody talks space... a great wake-up to you!

Dr. LOEB, do you think just because other planets have similar environmental like earth then you think there may be life there?! You must be arrogant or narrow minded to think that way. Why do you think other civilizations have to be like us?! If we live by water and air that doesn't mean other civilizations have to be the same. Just watch the animals on land and in the water on our earth alone so let alone what civilizations out there might be
