I always thought they'd encountered the Xenomorphs prior to this but they were just overwhelmed and led by someone who wasn't experienced. #1: Dallas says that two days before they left for their "job", the company replaced the previous science officer with Ash. Ash turns out to be the wrench in the engine. #2: An inexperienced officer, Gorman (ONLY TWO combat drops), leads a group of hardened Colonial Marines, who've clearly dealt with this before, and does poorly causing them to die.

the difference here was they are professionals who actually care and put effort into what they do. hollywood today seems more like a production line, shit in, shit out.

Heres how I think the storyline works: Okay, so W-Y is a bit like Umbrella from Resident , and they knew about the Xenomorphs invading their colony. I think they didn't want anyone on earth to find out, so they put an inexperienced Lieutenant in charge to make sure all the Colonial Marines died, but they failed, because Ripley survived in Aliens 3.

Here is my question? Hudson(Bill Paxton, asks Lieutenant Gorman( William Hope)"Is this going to be a stand-up fight, Sir, on another bug-hunt?". Did that statement mean that the space marines have fought other e.t. creatures before the xenomorphs?

Ah the profound truths you speak here...but the saddest thing is that too many other people just didn't see it that way. I guess we're in the minority.

Elimination is very difficult. Mitigation is the art of keeping it from flying around.

Oh yeah, I wasn't saying it was all his fault, he just got the shit end of the stick as well... >.> If Y-W ever comes around in reality, I hope they burn to the ground. But yeah... I was kinda sad when Vasquez bit the bullet with him. D: Gorman seemed to turn into a complete badass at the end. Also, the end where he shoots the alien and the rounds are glancing off... >.< damn... intense... they're so well armored, they can take 9mm rounds at less than 25 feet... and bounce them... o.o

It appears only certain parts of the Xenomorph Aliens are bullet resistant. Vasquez used her pistol and shot an Alien several times killing it in the process.

Maybe they fought other aliens, not just xenomorphs?

@sornan005 3 was originally going to be a great movie, but the studios completely messed with David Fincher's script. 4 was just....bad.
