Winona Rider deserves additional props for the underwater sequence. She was terrified of water after a childhood near death (or near drowning) experience. But after difficulty with getting good shots with a stunt double, she faced her fears like a goddamn champion for the sake of her art. (Just to clarify, this is not to say that any actor should ever be forced into any situation that makes them so extremely uncomfortable and traumatized. Just showing the respect that is due in its specific context, she did it NOT do it out of outside pressure but of her own free will for the sake of making the best movie she could and wanting to move forward from her trauma, and the director did everything he could to make a safe & supportive environment)

Tbh, that line delivery for "What's in-fucking-side me?!" will forever be the funniest thing to me. The plot and dialogue for this movie, especially the very blatant Whedon-esque dialogue, is just awful but that one line always earns a chuckle from me. Just the look in his eyes and his facial expression when he just outright screams it is just so great to me.

whaaaat!? i always thought that line was haunting tbh. pretty sure we'd all react the same way?

So, from what I've heard, there are two special things to note about this movie. The first is that they did not have any molds for the Alien Queen used in this. Instead, a fan of the films donated his original alien queen head, which was destroyed during the movie. Second, According to Fangoria magazine, the reason the newborn was so into 8 was because it had a boner for her. No, really. The censors refused to allow the film to air in theaters with alien boner, so the producers had to digitally remove it from every scene that had his lower torso shown.

Dude that "let's get to the numbers" might have been one of the best jump scares that truly caught me off guard and woke me up.

I love how Clone Ripley says "I'm not her."

Dude is a freaking mind reader. I was wondering if someone would throw the plush but nope he goes an alternate route. Bravo my man. Bravo.

I kinda actually felt bad for the newborn when he died. It was a gruesome death and he just looked so sad and helpless.

16:24 is honestly the best part of the movie, that was just so funny on how absurd it is

As much as I can see why so many people hate this version of Ripley, I actually really liked the idea of a human/alien hybrid and using a well-known character as the basis for it really showed the differences between the two species.

this was the first Alien movie I saw in theaters, back in the days when I sat in the front row and at some point during the movie a fucking Xenomorph walked in the entrance on one side of the theater, walked down to the front just under the screen then walked across to the other side and exited out the other side of the theater. Yeah i'll never forget that story, much like the night me and my brother went to go see Pitch Black when it was in theaters and it was storming outside and the power went out like 4 or 5 times during the movie.

In regards to Christie's death, I always assumed that the acid spit onto his face was eating into his skull/through his eye cavity and into his brain, causing some kind of acid-induced stroke. I mean, it eats through solid metal floors, what's flesh and bone, right? Because it happens on the left side of his face and his left arm seems to give first, then the other, I thought he no longer had the strength in his limbs to support his own bodyweight and used the last of his fried motor functions to unbuckle his harness so his larger mass didn't drag Vriess off the ladder with him. I thought the same weird paralysis had caused him to lose the co-ordination to shake his legs to get the dead xenomorph off. It's in no way a clear portrayal if this *was* what they were going for and maybe I'm making things up in my head because I had a soft spot for this trashy sequel back in the day as an impressionable teen. I was also maybe projecting my own experiences with paresthesia and loss of function to the right side of my face and arm from migraines which I suffered from a young age (which FYI later in life led to the discovery of brain lesions /mild brain damage/white matter stroke risk) but all the same, maybe it was a bit of self-insertion too. Anyways, still a lame death in the end and no less ridiculous as the rest of the movie, but just wanted to present my alternative theory to him just saying 'f**k it' and dying because he was too lazy to just shake that precariously hanging xeno corpse off his damn boot! LOL

At first I never knew that Prometheus was related to the Alien series (I know, I've been living under a rock) but I've learned so much from Found Flix's and Dead Meat's channel.

There's another movie where he plays a mad scientist for a company building perfect killing machine robots. It's called Death Machine and has characters named Weyland, Yutani, and Ridley. The GoodBad Flicks channel has a good video on the movie. The Death Machine kinda looks like a cyberpunk Xenomorph Queen too.

michael wincott, brad dourif, ron perlman, dan hedaya, ray cruz, this movie is a goldmine for character actors

I love this movie! I think it has some interesting visuals, awesome music, a good use of practical effects, and I feel most of the cast were having fun with their characters, which for me makes the movie enjoyable. I can see why it’s hated though, including but not limited to the portrayal of Ripley, some of the characters being annoying, and the movie overall feeling cartoony. But for me, those pitfalls make me feel that the movie was never supposed to be taken anywhere near as seriously as the previous entries, and when I go into it with that mindset, I find the film far more enjoyable.

I also love this movie, purely because it was so damn entertaining and I honestly find that most 'disappointing' sequels to great films, I still find enjoyable.

For all the flaws, and it does have flaws....I really like that this movie returns to the taboo cross-species sexuality theme that made the original so memorably disturbing--the scene with the failed clones is right up there with the original chestburster for me. I also appreciate that they don't invalidate the story of (the original) Ripley and let her sacrifice stand, with this one emphatically not being the same character.

That jump scare you did before you got to the numbers actually got me.

I loved this movie. I love all the alien movies including the predator movies. They're nostalgic for me. But I won't deny there are some stupid moments in them but that's why I love them even more. For me they're a cult classic

You can't call Alien or Predator movies cult classics. They're some of the most popular and widely recognised horror/sci-fi movies of all time.

I actually liked Resurrection more than A3. It was cool to see "Ripley" be more than just a plucky-but-not-really-that-tough normal person. I liked her badass, quirky turn, and actually hoped to see a sequel that explored her being on Earth, perhaps with a full-blown Alien invasion! Plus, the kills in this one were WAY more awesome and gross than any others in the series. Good, campy fun, if you can unplug your purist brain and enjoy a badass romp!

It really bugs me when Call gets shot, falls into the water and then appears at the top of the ladder opening the door two mins later. It seems she found a mysterious super short cut that everyone could have taken and avoided getting stuck under the membrane, the eggs hatching, getting caught on the stairs and Call getting shot. How did she just magic her way up there?? It has annoyed me for years!!

6:06 the guard was killed with the alien punish button, but who else thinks Gedinan should have been the one frozen with liquid nitrogen, arm broken off and not head bitten off? Wait.... they crashed into earth, creating a giant explosion, why are they not put on the kill count!

Not sure if the guard shattered into pieces or if he fell down and got broken in half. I just heard a lot of crackling before it cuts to the alien shouting.
