The proof that a good sci-fi movie doesn't need lots of special effects. What I have seen here looks so real. Story and characters are so believable and this mix makes it all so scary. Excellent movie. Best I've seen in years. Thanks for showing.

There's nothing wrong with special effects. We live in the 21st century.

Kyle Gallner is an atrociously under-rated actor. He's one of the best in the business.

Only 13 minutes in and I cannot believe that this excellence -- I'm talking story, I'm talking screenplay, I'm talking pacing, I'm talking performances, I'm talking photography, I'm talking all of it -- is here, on KZread, for everyone, for FREE! Pure excellence, with a pennies for a budget. It's almost too good to be true.

Quirky but brilliant. Am not easily impressed but this was done so well on that kind of budget and with solid performances all round. Kyle was not far off Depp quality here and even looks a bit like him. Mary McCormack is lovely and glad she came good in the end, and was esp surprised to see Richard Schiff. People were a bit disappointed with the ending, but I thought it was very well done and the dialogue with the timeless entity was on-point... gifting him his life back when he was satisfied with the final answer, understanding that we are carried by time (a concept totally alien to him) and often don't appear to have choice. It clearly made all the difference. At least that's the way I saw it. 9/10

Ya, I found it great until he admitted alien looking MIB into his house and still thought they were from ARIST. And still had no clue during the conversation. Pretty dumb for someone who single handedly decrypted a most difficult encrypted message.

I actually can't believe how good this movie is. Hollywood could learn a thing or 2 from the creator of this film.

BLOODY ELL!!! You dont often get recent movies this well made for free on youtube. I was hooked from start to finish

This is the best film of the genre I've seen for many years. The acting was great. I don't think the end was disappointing as some have said. I think it would have been spoiled by a neat, 'Happily Ever After' Hollywood ending. 5 Stars!

Agree! A "Happily Ever After" ending would have been as awful as the comedic outtakes shown at the end of what I consider to have been Peter Sellers' greatest movie, *_Being There._* Adding those outtakes cheapened the film because it betrayed the trajectory of the entire story. *_Being There_* was transcendental. Sellers knew it and tried to stop that groan-worthy decision. Yet, I think this film could've wrapped up one element and still kept the bittersweet feeling. Namely: Alex signing the NDA, getting the electronic deposit and telling Rebecca, "No." Rebecca: "But why? You're passing up a big paycheck. Easy money." Alex: "I don't know. I might be asking that question for the rest of my life. Let's just call it intuition." Alex (voiceover): "Sure, I lied. Wouldn't you? After all, I had signed the non-disclosure agreement -- twice! It didn't feel right revealing to her what I now know. I couldn't save her or Beth. But you have to ask yourself: How much would you pay to sidestep an early death? What good is a big paycheck if you know you won't be able to spend it?" 😎♥✝🇺🇸💯

10/10 for storyline, acting and for making the audience think.

Great movie. Proof that overpaid/hyped actors and excessive CGI ARE not necessary to make excellent films. A good story with good characters played fantastically by actors I’ve never heard of but hope to see again. Congratulations to all involved. 👍👍👍👍👍

I knew there was something about Kyle after the first 15 minutes, he acted his socks off in that film ! The others were great supporting actors and the guy that played top alien, presented an awe of power that made it believable that he was from another dimension. The special effects were great and filming all deserve credit. Love the repeating dilemma with Beth and the makeshift bomb. Oh no! panic!! When see Kyle look out over the city, I guess he couldn't stop them from deciphering the code but without his help he had sometime to enjoy a bit of life before it all goes haywire.

Really a good movie, well written, excellent plot, the kind of movie that makes you think and everyone else.

This film is great and although fictional, the story is a crucial lesson to Humanity about tampering with things that they can neither comprehend nor control.

Kyle Gallner acting had me hooked in the first 10 minutes. The rest of the cast were great too, but Kyle made me live the scene.

This is one of the best Sci-fi movies I've seen in a long time. As some already written here, doesn't take a lot of special effects to convey a good eerie alien feeling. A good, solid idea and a well written script is key, followed by good acting and direction of course. Also I'm wondering: why aren't we seeing Kyle Gallner more out there?? He's really good! Thanks for sharing.

This movie is solid proof that idea, storytelling and character building are far more critical to success than CGI and FX. Also, I am very impressed how they used sound to accentuate the meaning of each scene. Definetly a top of the line sfi fi movie!

This should get a lot more views. It is extremely well done. Some didn't like the ending, but how else would you end it. Thinking about multi dimensional reality in conjunction with time travel gives me a head ache. If they didn't end it there, it might go on forever, or it might never have started, or maybe it all happens in a single moment. Maybe even all of the above. Then the head ache starts.

Oh "They" don't understand the thing they tapped into since time's kind of odd thing and to find these creatures that have rudimental sentience and still don't have all time-related stuff, research project... Did you miss the statement "you already asked that", it's just a fact "They" didn't understand time for us and in their perspective everything was already done, they just wanted another experiment for human psychology or such to manifest (since they tried so hard to understand time from human perspective they did shift him, always had shifted him as part of the experiment). Tbh I don't understand what was scary of "Them" once it'd been established they were outside of time. I mean, nothing can be done, everything has already happened (probably) so you'd already know you're part of experiment already finished. Thus "forget everything you can't do a thing". Very good story and movie.

Top notch Sci Fi. Five stars. This film's restored some confidence in me that it's still possible to write and produce a quality Sci Fi film without a Jr High School mentality. Kyle Gallner co-starred in that movie "Smile" which was actually pretty good despite the deplorable title. Azura Skye has a screen presence that's hard to match.

This movie is a reminder of what entertainment USED to look like...didn't need a love scene, or needless harsh language. It had suspense and fed my imagination. It made the idea of energy existing in ALL forms acceptable. Unbelievable, but acceptable. TY and FREE!

So if is as comments are saying, that this is a true story that means that time travel is and has been used for decades or more and we are finding out about it now? I hate the way the government cover up time travel!

Excellent film; great acting carries it through. Not to mention a thought provoking plot.

An excellent movie which as others have said, demonstrates that it isn't about the budget, it's about the concept and the ability of the actors to make it real.

This is a fantastic sci-fi movie! The best I’ve seen in a long time! I loved seeing Mary McCormack! This is really a great movie. True science fiction at its best.

Thought provoking is an understatement. Good script, good writing. Actors portraying believable people. For SF, this is more plausible than most of the genre. And no gore for gore's sake.

A perfect science fiction story with unusual insights, fantasies and humour. Loved it and thus I give it a full marks five star rating.

I call it finding a gem , every time I find a fantastic movie on KZread . Great movie a true Gem !

Philosophising and analysing or simply communicating as the sillouhetted man was engaged in necessitates being under the influence of "time". When the past and future are the present or is the "now", the perceived and the perceiver are one and the same. Or to put it another way; the knower and the known are not separate in the dimension without linear time. The writer should have done more research.

Kyle Gallner is a brilliant movie actor. Good to see a new talent like this. There hasn't been a new male movie star-who's good-in a long time. The script also is refreshing. It ain't a 'Hollywood' movie...it vibes more with philosophical Russian films, like Tarkovsky's Solaris and Stalker. Hollywood films always seek to make the viewer feel good...and there's nothing wrong with that...but film can, like literature, explore human existence in non-feel-good ways. Does George Orwell's 1984 make you feel good? Or The Brothers Karamazov? Not really, but you like them because they deal honestly and insightfully with aspects of life, which is helpful. Alien Code deals with the frustration we have at not knowing the purpose of life and does it in an accomplished suspenseful way that has you hooked right to the end. Five stars.

A rare film where the acting is stronger than the script. All goes intriguingly well until the end when the script slips a little missing the power of the beginning. In any case it is a well done movie; classic syfy with very few gimmicks used in filming. Well worth the watch although I wish the writer had not eased up at the end. It's a good way to spend an hour and a half. Hats off to the actor who played Alex: Kyle Gallner.

The best kind of sf - profound and with a solid core idea that plays out with great acting and maximum use of minimal sfx. It goes to prove that great sf doesn't need laser guns, spaceships and an enormous budget.

Amazing , original storyline with enough science to support its fictional part. Great acting from actor Kyle Gallner and actresses Azura Skye and Mary Mc cormack. The conversation at the end poses good questions.

Really good. Great acting. I hope the main actor gets a lot of work from this. They were all good 👍🏽🎉 cheers to all involved

This plot challenges the paradigm we assume of time/space by challenging our consciousness from being "perceived" to being "projected" (min. 1:30:00...) It intersperses quantum postulates deciphered by a programmer and leads to rethinking by alien intelligences . Sci-Fi at its best. Congrats for sharing it.

The very first time I watched this movie was during the lockdown Covid, and I loved this movie since! I’ve already watched it several times!

All the comments talking about « the film, the science fiction and else» but no one talking about the fact time do not exist and it’s a lesson to understand certains laws of this matrix as the vibration and the manifestation. Great knowledge of the universe. Only spirituals awakened people will understand the power of this masterpiece and the frequencies it gives us. All is one and one is all.

This movie is surprisingly well done, with good actors/acting.

The film explored concepts I have been contemplating over these past thirty years some of the themes were: Thanatology, Gnosticism, Quantum Physics, Retrocausation, Cryptography, Doppelgangers, Many Worlds Theory, Perceptual psychology, Neurology, Psychiatry and last but not least Idealism. For me the best part of the film was the dialogue between Alex and the Entity was it a tulpa did all this happen in his own mind or what Kastrup calls Mind at Large? All in all a fantastic film very profound 10/10.

An excellent movie and very thought provoking and deep.

I believe what you really have to ask yourself is: Did I watch this? Or did I imagine the whole thing? OK I will end by saying it was a great hour and 39 minutes of entertainment. I really enjoyed it and would give it 5 stars out of five.

this movie is like 90% exposition and it's all perfectly written and executed. They did a great job with this. I get the sense they didn't have much of a budget but they damn sure made the most of what they had. Brilliant film

I was born in 1976, and in some year in the future I will die. But. It is not about the years (1976 - 2???), it is about the dash in between the years. Speaking as someone who was a teenager in 1976, I find it weird to think that there is a person who was not here on the planet with me before 1976. And it is weird that you only have my word for it that 1975 ever happened. Maybe I arrived on this planet not in the body of a baby, in the 1950s, but in the body of a teenager, in 1976. Maybe the world began in 1976, and there never was a 1975. You would never know. It is very weird to me that I remember a time that you don’t. It is also very weird to me, that if we both live to the age of 80, you will see several years that I won’t see. Will those years in which you are living in the world but I am not, really exist? They will exist in your reality but not in my reality. You and I are time travellers living on different planes of time which happen to intersect briefly in 2024 but which are completely separate. Two distinct realities. Like two zoo animals living in separate cages. Which is real, your cage or mine?

I just clicked on this accidentally thinking this was some cheesy ufo doc, I watched a bit and was instantly intrigued

I love this movie! Excellent job in acting and the storyline was great and very close to the truth as they can get it!!

Excellent movie with good chunks of dialogues, particularly, last 10-12 minutes. I am currently recovering from cancer and yesterday's evening was not good psychologically. Not sure if it was a mere coincidence that I came across this movie and decided to watch it until the end to listen to the last 10 minutes Q&A 🙂. I had the same thoughts going in my mind yesterday, same words - "I did not choose to get sick!!" and what would I do differently if I am put back to a time when I wasn't well. I don't have an answer though 🙂. Thanks for a great movie. Keep it up. There are so many things we don't know. At least we can start accumulating questions!

I think if we went back in time we would do things differently the knowledge from then to past would change alot of things. Wow this movie makes u think...enjoy peeps 😊

Well, you happen to be right about it being a male director. And of the three second assistant directors, two are women! 😉

Get these actors more roles. Great story and well presented. Better than a lot of the Nerflix and Prime rubbish.

Incredible acting, totally engrossed, yatahey for a genius plot, I can't quit watching, and have NO IDEA where this is going! 5+ stars, BACK TO THE MOVIE!!! Db

So this how the Observers (from Fringe) originally came in. Good story and love how it reminded me of a show I loved.

Although the concept of 'the watchers' is biblical. Daniel 4:17, and the Books of Enoch. Which is before this 2018 film, I think! 😉

Excellent film along Phillip K Dicks type of mindfukry- agree with other commenters, if the story is solid you don’t need CGI rammed down your throat. Thank you for posting this gem.

The acting talent in this movie is outstanding! Very thought-provoking theme with interesting special effects. Well worth watching.

I,ve followed science non fiction for 60 years. There are so many parts of this movie that l,ve read or heard before. Script is fantastic really...the study of us, the stupid ageing and suffering wheel. Sort of HELL with pretty scenery. Well worth the watch.

Such a good film and tackled the time subject really well. Great acting, shooting, and script.

This is a great watch, stacks of food for thought, in fact I always sorta thought I thought too much, obviously I'm not alone. Thanks for posting I think its the only KZread film I ever enjoyed, in fact the only film I've enjoyed for quite a stretch. Cheers.

What a very strange film . . . interesting, but strange and unfathomable . . . .

I'm very very impressed with this movie , the producer is clearly aware and has done the proper research on the subject, I wasn't expecting such a MONUMENTAL ending !! I HAD TO WATCH IT LIKE 5 TIMES Because it touches on some very uncomfortable EXISTENTIAL DilemmaS And it really gets to the CORE OF THE ISSUE OF :::: WHY ARE WE TRULY HERE IN THIS WORLD AND IS WHAT IS OUR TRUE PURPOSE HERE !! WHY WE CANNOT PASS THE NEXT LEVEL OF EVOLUTION SO TO SPEAK... WHO'S TRULY RUNNING THE SHOW HERE !!!

I have to follow other commenters and agree this is a very good movie. Well worth watching! Thank you for the upload.

THIS was fascinating!! I'm dumbfounded yet curiously intrigued, like I just read a Science fiction novel that was actually based on true events. I was so emerced into this movie that it makes me wonder how the writers came up with the idea for this story? I've been very interested in all things related to investigative reportings of the strange and unexplained, from UFO's to Big Foot, from Skin Walkers to the paranormal and so on...but a film like this makes you really think about what our government knows and how much do they know about a lot of things they've been involved in. I could go on and on, but after watching this movie, it makes for a perfect conversational piece at a boring party...!

@seanhonu It didn't make me think about what our government, or yours, knows. It made me think about what I know and don't know! 😉 And I'd be sad if my mind chose to go in the same direction you mentioned after watching the film. And it's UFOs plural with no apostrophe saying UFO is. Objects has no apostrophe.

This is up there with Primer as far as low budget sci-fi goes. Very captivating and exceptionally well put together and acted. Solid effort ❤

This is my kind of Scifi... little to no murderous battle action and lots of 'consider the unlimited possibilities' mind teases. 👽 Kyle Gallner was very believable, good actor and I think he elevated this film, I'm going to keep my eyes open for him in the future, he deserves lots of success.🙂

Kudos for all involved in the production in this film. Great job to lead actor as well as supporting. Music was also near perfection. Thanks!

Wow a movie that has real acting. A movie that keeps me at the edge of my seat because of good acting and not a lot of special effects with mundane acting. This what movies and actors use to be like. Can't believe it's free.

That's a GREAT spiritual FILM ! My humble french ass needs to integrate these deep ideas. Now i begin to understand the power of fictions and dreams over our "shared REALITY"....starting to crack....or is it my brain breaking down ? Fiction meets reality....Death merges with life...past, present, futur are blending in 1 single instant of consciousness. There is hope beyond words and logic. Feel inside your body : life, death, pain, pleasure are always present in your human nature. GOD loves human stories. Peace & love

Wow! Brilliant. I'm a sci-fi and horror movie buff and this is one of the best I've ever seen in my 58 years on earth. Original and captivating.

That was better then I expected. Nicely done. Good story line.

10 ft transparent aliens... Shifting to seeing it to then not seeing it!!!😮 Those Miami sightings of similar beings or whatever they were has this all over it. I didn't expect it to show 10 ft or more sized aliens. So now I'm weirded out. I didn't even look for this movie I just got done watching Almost an Angel with Crocodile Dundee😂😂😂 odd contrast of movie. Great movie. Really really great 😊
