DuVall is way more talented than a lot of the “he ain’t Layne crowd” gives him credit for. His vocals and guitar work is on point and he brings just the right energy to the band. Hell yes we all would love Layne at the helm but DuVall is a hell of a musician.

Jerry had serious addiction issues himself and was on a very similar path as Layne, there is a reason degradation trip vol1&2 is just as dark as any AIC record. Jerry has been through it, this song is not just about Layne

@@TSPH1992 ya Duvall is great and him and Jerry have incredible chemistry live, love he is a good guitarist too, having a second guitar on all the Duvall era albums really adds some fullness to their sound especially live. Layne era will always be the peak of the band but they’re still fuckin awesome, Jerry is one of the best songwriters ever and Duvall/Sean/inez all are fantastic, they sound fantastic live too when they’re doing headlining tours after releasing a new album.

I love Layne and really think he played a huge part in Alice in Chains. But in my opinion Jerry is Alice in Chains and it's always been his band. He just doesn't take a direct spotlight front man approach. He's wrote most the music. Honestly and not being a typical all me selfish front man shows how much character he has.

I think the lyrics spoke about the former bassist of AIC Mike Starr. One time Mike and Layne they both took heroine but Layne overdose and Mike didn't call 911, instead he got panicked and left Layne in a life threatening situation and we all know how that end. Mike kept this for himself many years ,was his "DESICION". RIP LAYNE AND MIKE

Why would he say Layne f'ed up that song more times than he really did ? It's disparaging. Before this I have already picked up on a jealousy from Jerry since after all, Layne was the star of the show, which was really unfair but it was the way it was. I hope Jerry is happy now that he gets all the glory. But no, remarks like that show the old feelings aren't healed.

Wtf are you talking about, Jerry loved Layne, always has and always will, it was a fact Layne messed up sludge factory on the unplugged show, it’s not like he’s calling Layne a piece of shit, he’s just talking about other experiences AiC have had messing up because they just messed up in this performance. Jerry does not have resentment towards Layne. And what are you talking about his lyrics, go listen to black give way to blue if you want to hear how he feels about Layne. He will always love Layne, they were best friends

Trend Wave of course Jerry isn’t perfect, they literally just messed up right as the video starts, that was why he brought up another time AiC messed up during and acoustic set, nothing more, Jerry is a super good dude and very humble, trying to shit on him because he told a quick little story of something that actually happened is ridiculous
