    Jerry's extra hair flipping always cracks me up. Layne is so nonchalant, just has to stand there and sing his heart out. Mike is having the time of his life. Sean's groove is amazing. What a time to be alive.

    Saw and met them in Nashville In Sept 92 I believe it was at the Starwood Ampitheater. Hund out with Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon for about 20 mins too. My girlfriend ran all the Emergency Medical Services at Starwood. Also met STP during their Core Tour, Smashing Pumpkins, as well as some others. Sean Kinney was crazy, he farted on the side of Staleys face with his shorts, boxers and all pulled down. Staley was napping on a couch. myself and Shannon were standing at the door to their dressing room, and he elbowed me and pointed their way right before Sean did it. It was FUNNY AS HELL!! Starr grabbed some Tissue out of the bathroom and wiped Laynes face like it was a butt...had to be there

I read the book American Junkie..one of Layne's and Kurt's dealers and the man had huge holes in his butt..huge.. in his legs he actually could pull shards of his bone.. and he lived.. he went to the hospital and stayed for over a year in rehab.. Layne could have survived....somedays i cant listen to River of Deceit..the tears pour down.. some days I can listen to Layne all day...he is missed by millions.... xoxox

Cantrell's simple yet effective riffs that perfectly accentuates the level of brilliance in Staley's tortured delivery. The rhythm Section is awesome aswell. • @RexytheRexy

    @RexytheRexy

    10 ай бұрын

    His vocal range, in terms of the notes he hit that are documented, was F#2-A5 (1.5 tones under three and a half octaves). I'd bet he could manage another full note, taking him up to B5, but four is a major stretch. Most female vocalists can't hit an F#6, which is higher than the operatic soprano holy grail note. For an idea of how high an F#6 truly is, listen to "Gett Off" by Prince. It doesn't matter, at the end of the day, what his range was - it has very little to do with how truly gifted a singer is. As an example, Nina Simone is one of the greatest vocalists to ever walk the earth, and hers was a note under three octaves (G#2-F#5).

    Absolutely. "Angry Chair" shows he can easily match Chris Cornell, the vocalist who people compare his talent to most often. I've never heard anyone with more thunder in his chest or sweetness in his falsetto, and to this day, no one can cover "Man in the Box". His vocal technique is virtually impossible, and paired with the pure, raw emotion and his honestly ridiculous beauty... no one will ever match him.
