Saddest part of this video: 1. It's from VH1's Behind The Music - a really awesome program that provided a lot of useful information on the journeys bands went on, and it's no longer aired. 2. It showcases MTV's Unplugged - a really awesome program that provided a different listening experience to your favorite musicians, and it's no longer aired. Besides just outright removing music from either station, removing these two staples is such a monumental loss that I can't even articulate it in words...

I get what you're saying but MTV has a mandate to put on great fake reality shows like Catfish, Floribama Shore and The Hills, as well as ripoffs of Tosh.0 hosted by a guy who tries REALLY hard to act black, as well as a cackling intagram girl who also wants to act black. If it weren't for MTV, the only place you could see cooked, fake reality shows is ABC. And NBC. And Fox. And CBS. And Bravo. And Netflix. And A&E. And every other channel on cable. And every streaming service.

the people don't know the story behind that bass: Alice In Chains had a tour scheduled with Metallica in 1994 but a few days before the tour began, Layne's health condition with drugs worsened, and Alice in Chains had to cancel the tour (also losing the opportunity to play at Woodstock) . metallica (instead of keeping quiet) made fun of alice in chains (specifically layne) all the tour. On the day of the unplugged metallica appeared at the show, as "revenge" (in quotes because I suppose) mike inez wrote "friends don't let friends get haircut", because at that time metallica were called "seld-out"for cutting their hair and radically change your sound in load

This isn't true. They've always been friends and they showed up at the AiC Unplugged gig to support their friends. Lars named his son Layne for fucks sake. James making fun of Layne on tour was a tasteless edgy, fake metal macho bullshit joke no doubt about it but it's no different than your best buddy ribbing on you. Sometimes friends take things too far. Obviously the guys in AiC werent too upset over it, im sure sober James Hetfield wishes he could take back what he said but there's no reason 20+ years later to keep spreading bullshit drama between bands that was never there in the first place and honestly, It's disrespectful to Layne's memory because he was cool as fuck and wasnt about that kinda petty bullshit.

I love Layne and his voice is amazing and more "advanced" than Jame's and sounds better for Grunge. But why is that the only thing people mention? I mean if you're gonna compare between them in a childish "who's a better musician" contest why not talk about guitar playing abilities? James sings AND plays guitar, better than Layne ever did. He wrote way more songs and his lyrics are as good as Layne's best work. Moreover, he was actually the front man of Metallica on his own. Yeah Layne knew how to sing and write lyrics but he was no where near Hetfield in the song writing department and stage presence. It's just so cool to hate on Metallica that all these AIC fans just like mentioning things that make Metallica look inferior. Either look at the whole picture or don't go into these stupid "Layne is better than James" argument at all, because Layne had nothing on James in general as a musician. The numbers speak for themselves, and numbers actually mean something when we're talking about metal and rock 'n roll and not pop music.

First of all, I think you would probably be pretty angry if you worked hard on a product and people decided your time and skill wasn't worth paying for when they could just steal it instead. But that wasn't even why they went after Napster. Their music was stolen and released illegally before it was supposed to come out. That was what they were really angry about, and if you were in their situation, made a song and before you released it some asshole stole it and put it out on the internet and you weren't angry I would call you a damn fool. They had every right to be angry and anyone else in their shoes would have done the same thing. If you think stealing someone else's hard work is ok there is something wrong with you.
