Ok I do not want you guys to get confused, so as someone who’s watched the entire show, I’m gonna answer some of your questions without spoiling. 1. They only play games at night because that’s when the game arenas open. 2. There are limited games per night, as well as limited time for people to enter the game before registration closes. People whose visas are expiring that night or soon have to get a game arena before registration closes. 3. The number on the cards corresponds the difficulty of the game; clubs means it’s a collaboration/team game, spades means it’s a game of strength, hearts is betrayal of emotions, and diamonds means it’s a game of wits and using your brain.

this game was so smart honestly.. telling them to reach the goal when the word "goal" was written on the bus the whole time 🙈 the phones already said "0 metres".. it didn't give them a certain distance to travel because the travel distance was literally zero since they were already at the "finish line" in the bus 😭 i was sooo frustrated by the end of this game lol, whoever made it is so evil

They could've chilled on the bus for 2 hours 😂😂 "damn look at all that water over there" 😭😂

In squid game they sacrifice their life for money In Alice they need to play the games for their life So when the characters dead in SG i didn't feel too sad bcs it's all their choice to keep playing or not, but in Alice they have no choice

In Squid game they basically had no life outside the game. They were dead outside too. They weren't playing just for money, it was for their lives as well.

Fun fact: In the manga this game was a part if a side story with different characters; Arisu and Usaig didn't play this game And the obstacles were a cheetah, water filled with alligators, freezing cold and an explosion

Go back and watch the previous episode. Chota got blown out of his shoes and they actually did show his leg. Besides that, everyone had the explosive collar on and they didn't find a way to take them off in time.

Episode 4 in the bag!!! Yeeeeeee!! So clubs games are actually team games, they didn't need strength at all in this episode but the effed up thing about it is, they made it seem like they were running the right way when the masterminds put a "replenishment station" in the middle of the damn tunnel. Smfh the game master is an asshole, if arisu was in his right mind I know he would've solved this out immediately like he did with the building map in the first game.

Club games are similar to Heart games. Just a little more subtle. You can call this game a Heart game and no one would object. Anyway, the games are made by different Game Master so you can feel the difference between the Club Masters and the Heart Masters.

That's because the subs translate the japanese word "itadakimasu" while the dub adapts the image to a new culture, in english you wouldn't say thanks for the food before an animal that's still moving and alive, easy little guy is something more natural sounding that an english speaker would actually say

I think the major thing between this and squid games is that these people didn’t choose. In squid games they all chose to come back but this one there’s no choice, no answers just survival

I thought squid games and Alice and borderland were both equally good they just shone and had things going for them in different ways ..

I saw a theory about the last episode in the hearts game. Supposedly if everyone would’ve hidden from the wolf like the instructions said everyone would’ve lived because the point of the game is betrayal and messing with people’s hearts which is what the game did, it made everyone turn on each other instead of working as a team and thinking clearly.

in squid game they were all at rock bottom and they chose to go back to the game - there was a build-up in the sense that we got to see the character's situations, background stories, how they got to the game, how it'll benefit them in the long run, etc. the games also had a visible structure and hierarchy to them so it felt a bit more digestible and easier to follow. aib feels a bit more scattered for the viewer - probably on purpose, because the character's we've seen so far are also confused. there's no final goal as far as we can see, there's no visible design or aim really. also the characters we've been introduced to are all at different places in life, different social classes, different situations. also, we've only seen surface level background stories for the 'main' characters, 3 of which have already died (chota, shibuki, karube), arisu and usagi. the others we've come across are still mostly unknown to us and we're halfway into the show - so the connection isn't really as deep in that sense (we knew their stories in sg by ep2). that being said, there's a different kind of confused anticipation in aib that's exciting and intriguing :)) the not knowing makes the reveals more dramatic

Its a Clubs games so their is no strength involved. Its team work and low level at 4, so if they work together to observe their surroundings this game could have been an easy clear.

Ive been waiting for this reaction all week 😄 the 10 of hearts is "the game" i cant wait for you guys to get to that episode, if you love Karube you'll love the yakuza guy Aguni from the tag game in ep3, he is one of my fave character in after 10 of hearts. questions are answered in the half of the series

Clubs is "team" game. Spades is strength. Diamonds is puzzle. Hearts is betrayal.

It's also better than SG in my opinion. Because i like the mystery & the plot. It's more fun to guess what gonna happen next. Drama, mystery, thrill, & creative plot, they got it all complete the way that i like. 👍

Squid Game is essentially a social commentary and has a very tight story arc aimed at pulling emotional reactions out of viewers (as good K-dramas should). It's focused on the characters and their plight and their relationships with others. In other words, the games, while shocking and attention-grabbing, are secondary. The nub of the story is how people behave in life and death situations. I mean, is it any coincidence that "Sangwoo" has kinda become code for people who act in a certain way? AIB is more about the games themselves, the problem solving and the mystery of who's behind the games, and lies more in the fantasy genre.

@@LiveANoursishedLife When these guys said the characters in AIB were more relatable, I was like duh yeah of course, because you and I are leading relatively comfortable lives like Arisu & friends, playing games and hanging out at the pub. We're not penniless and at at the end of our ropes like Gihun, Ali and co. But the whole point of SG was to remind us that poverty exists and to make us think about the lengths that desperate people are prepared to go to. I do think SG was overhyped, in the sense that the cultural phenomenon overshadowed the theme of the show.

I agree, A.I.B characters are far more relatable. Though for me I felt more emotionally moved by the character in S.G. this show is so good though and it only gets better with each episode.

Clubs ♣ are team work games but in the manga clubs means Balance, because it has elements from other three game types but team work is still a major key element

alice in borderland acc came out before squid game so maybe some of the concepts from squid game came from alice in borderland but again, squid took years and years to screenwrite so it may just be the directors for both watch similar thriller shows and got inspired

Tbh just like AiB, ATGW live-action didn't live up to the original manga lol, actually worse than how AiB l-a transferred things on screen even. But it was a fun watch (and I didn't like the part 2 of the manga so it's like "better have one than none at all" haha)

the people in the comments mad they said AIB is better than SG are so funny, i agree with the hype thing, although AIB was really hyped up when it came out and even more so now, other than jdrama fans and people who enjoy the death game genre many people didn't give it a chance because it was a japanese drama. (jdrama has always pushed more towards their entertainment industry than global which adds to why people always underestimate them) also SG when it came out they were accused of plagiarizing almost 7 works, many being japanese works. the entire red light green light was basically a high end version of daruma-san ga koronda from as the gods will. you can have y'all own opinions about which you like better but don't be disrespectful and forget that japan basically made the death game genre and most definitely popularized it, specifically with battle royale cuz everyone and their mothers were trying to recreate battle royale and as the gods will when they came out 😐

Squid games is more real world based and this is more sci-fi based therefore more enjoyable. Besides people forced into games the two are very different and really shouldn’t be compared.
