I was born in the wrong generation. Love this lady. Especially the Phil Harris & Alice Faye Show on radio.

My mother this was her favorite song to the man she loved
This is by far the best version of this song, even better than Alice Faye's original version in "Hello, Frisco, Hello". You can tell that Alice Faye poured her whole soul into it. Her voice is so amazingly feminine and loving, which must have touched the heart of every G.I. who listened to it so far from home. I love Vera Lynn, but this rendition tops it by a mile.

"You'll Never Know" is truly one of the greatest ballads in the history of motion pictures and certainly deserved its Oscar for Best Original Song in 1943.
My late Mother's favorite song and I'm dedicating it to you now Mom!💕🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀

Me too
I became so fond of this song watching "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" on Cinemax at age 11, but it sure takes on a new meaning, widowed last Wednesday. To all those who've loved and lost.
Bravo, dear Miss Faye ! You are not forgotten, and still loved.❤💯
I saw Alice sing this song in the original picture in 1944. Still sounds grea!
One of the very most beautiful tunes there ever was.
Thank you Harry Warren & Mack Gordon(lyricist) for composing this WW2 classic.
THIS IMMENSELY TALENTED AND CLASSY LADY HERE SALUTES THE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN OF " THE GREATEST GENERATION " WHO PUT THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE EVERY HOUR IN THE NAME OF FREEDOM SUCCESSFULLY STOPPING AN OUT OF CONTROL MADMAN
GORGEOUS... Thank you for posting this gem.....What a beautiful singer and actress !!!!
Truly my favorite version of this dear old song.
The year I was born. I love this song, and no one does it better. Harry
Thank you for this wonderful clip! The GI.I.'s loved this song, and while a lot of singers covered it (and covered it wee), Ms Faye really did own it!

The only one who came close was Vera Lynn, from England. Check it out.

They saw their own wives and girlfriends as they watched and listened to the words. Homesick and missing everybody in their lives. It was a godawful war!
Long live the boys in the army.
Dang, Alice Faye has a Beautiful Singing Voice.
amazingly beautiful. love it very much. It stimulates my lacrimal gland to produce tears. the best version. this is the music of a soul in love with the Creator. You'll never know what God only knows. God bless you all.
I'm head over heels in love with Alice Faye. Why was I born too late?
Only a kid then, before Hollywood got their hands on her and changed her so much. Maybe only about 18?

Born 5 May 1915, Ms. Faye was 29 when this picture was made. She always took very good care of herself.
linda canção, bonita voz e bonita garota dos distantes anos 40! 👏🏼
Song featured in the shape of water.

That was/is considered a big "no no" in the movies; Alice was an expert at it.
