ALi G writes a book

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

People have been reading books for millions of years... and with new techonology, now people can write them too. Ali speaks with book masters to try to get his book ideas signed out. If they signed his book, women around the world would be much, much happier.

    Ali G: "I could set it on a spaceship." sci-fi publisher: *has to seriously rethink his refusal*

  • @Svankmajer

    @Svankmajer

    +Rup Tratin Yes, he actually does. When Ali G said he could put it on a spaceship it does sound like a cyberpunk sci-fi movie, which actually sounds a bit original, even if trashy.. and coming from an utter idiot, as far as the publisher was concerned. For 50 dollars I can get how the publisher would be curious to see how it would turn out.

    It's funny, cause it sort of makes you look at the validity of sci-fi as a genre. Like what, just involving spaceships suddenly make it sci-fi? Unfortunately, it does. What does that say about sci-fi?

  • @PyroNexus22

    @@coraoso You can keep believing, that sci-fi is about that, but practically anything with spaceships is considered sci-fi nowadays. I don't invent the rules, but I tell it, how it is.

    The guy was really into the idea of the vibrating book! The thing is, there are people who would buy it. I love how he says "hmmm interesting" after it vibrates. It's 2:30 in the morning and I'm laughing out loud!

    Yes, British 'wigger' would be about right. Around the time Ali G emerged, in the late 90's these kind of guys were everywhere. He is hilarious even without this cultural reference, but as a guy who grew up in this time and place, I can tell you that this was the funniest thing ever in context. Everyone knew someone who was a bit like Ali G.
