Algebra - Solving Compound Inequalities

Solving Compound Inequalities boils down to the simple yet interesting question of, "what's the exact difference between OR and AND?" We cover how to solve inequalities such as these, including examples having "all real numbers" and "no solution." The number line gets involved, and actually use our bodies to demonstrate how the answers work. I'd highly recommend you try some of the arm movements while we discuss it in the video; it's a great learning strategy.

@yaymath: Robert you are a wonderful teacher and I would like to personally thank you for posting all of your videos. I am 40 something going to college (for the first time) and I can not remember any of the Algebra that I was supposed to learn 25 years ago. I am in a MATH 121 course and I find myself constantly referring back to your videos for understanding. You make Algebra simple and easy to understand. Thank you!

Joe, you and people like you give me purpose. Thank you for taking the time to reflect back to me (and others walking in your steps) what your experience is. Know that chances are than at least 1 person will read your message and be inspired. So congratulations on the courage you have in facing down the math lion after all those years, and also for your decision to let other(s) know that it's not only possible, but when you really let it in, essential. You're invited to share all your milestones in the future.

Dude, I literally started learning compound inequalities on Khan Academy yesterday around 11am. It did not make the slightest bit of sense to me (An 11th grade drop out), or my girlfriend who is in college for computer engineering. I spent hours, watching video after video. Reading articles, wrong answer after wrong answer. Until an hour ago, I came across you. And half way through this video, it clicked in my head. YOU helped me understand what had taken me over a day of non stop working at, and I thank you for that. I had blown through everything until I got to this point. I feel a lot of teachers on here, they explain how to solve the inequality, and how to put it on a graph. But they completely ignore and/or skip, how to actually answer the question. Thank you for this, yayamath! You absolutely get a like and a subscribe from me as well as a consistent viewer!

@yaymath I love your math videos. Honestly, I look at several KZread math channels also. You and they all have good instruction to offer. In my case, I'm in my 60s and I find myself studying Algebra for the fourth time in my life because I've got teenagers attending online remote classes during the pandemic. Anyway, thanks for all you do. It helps quite a bit.

I've not been here in awhile since I out grew the channel (my math classes progressed faster than new content)... but I stopped by to check out the channel because I was plugging it... I'm watching the new intro and thinking it's cool... I was ready to object to there not being a Star Trek Day Ahdoot haha. Glad to see that was included.☻
