There is a lot to digest in these bbq’s. Lets Dig right into it. They essentially make two brands, the artisan which is going to be the more affordable model, and then the alfresco which is going to be the luxury lineup or high end gas grills. A lot of people ask why they make two different lines. And the reason is pricing. With American made grills they are obviously going to be more expensive then china made grills, and the problem is when you make such a nice grill. They are super expensive, and they price themselves out of most peoples budget. So in order to capture more market share, they usually make a more affordable model to get into better price points for customers. That is where the Artisan comes into play.
Lets start with Artisan professional series features
- Made in the USA
- Stainless steel U burners
- Interior lighting
- Rotisserie kit
- All 304 stainless steel
- Ceramic briquettes
- If you want something even more affordable you can purchase the American Eagle model which doesnt have lights or rotisserie burner or kit. And it becomes super affordable. I would recommend this option if you want a high quality American made grill but don’t want to spend a ton of money.
So what upgrades do you get with the alfresco grill?
-higher BTU burners that are titanium infused so they are basically indestructible
- hidden rotisserie motor so its not even visible for a cleaner look
-even beefier hood system.
-intergrates smoker tray with burner
-motion lights
I will say these grills are exceptionally made, I am very impressed with overall quality and build. And would cook on one of these myself for sure.

In reading some of the comments below, I have to agree that Hestan grill hits on many areas that are important to me. If I understand correctly, the Hestan Briquette cartridges are reversible meaning they look the same on each side and are designed to be used on either side. As you demonstrated on the Alfresco, you flip the briquette cartridge to use the clean side. However, the Alfresco cartridge is not designed to be reversible. The same thing goes for the grates. The biggest issue for me on any grill is cleaning the cartridges and grates and keeping them clean. If they can be cleaned (burned off) while using the grill that is a win! One question I have is if the Hestan has a Variable temp sear burner? I am hearing more about how Lynx recommends their infrared burner for all of the burners since they are variable, do not clog, and do not require much maintenance as with a traditional burner. Since you purchased a Hestan, can you share your experience with it?

so those are probably my top 2 grills the hestan and the lynx all trident, we currently have both in stock right now. The advantage of the lynx is their sear station turns down to 300 degrees vs. 400 on the Hestan, the hestan is a bit more refined IMO. And all the points you made are correct.

can you turn down the temp on the infrared side so you can cook with an even temperature across the whole grill surface?

Any ideas why a new Artisan, used only a few times and cleaned once, will not light at times? I keep it covered. It is LP and I switched out tanks and made sure it was open completely. Any thoughts? Could it be after rain? (It is covered and built in to an island and caulked appropriately). Not purchased from you :)

I’m about to pull the trigger on either the 36 Hestan ,Alfresco, or Lynx with all trident. I already have a kamado joe and a legriddle flattop. Which would you pick with the consideration of grills I already own?

@@embersliving I do. I’m a couple months out from ordering the grill along with the outdoor cabinets and finishing the pavers. But I might not be be able to wait. It’s been a long time since I’ve upgraded my regular grill. So when I do, do I just call in and ask for Trevor the you tube celebrity? Hahah.

@@johndigregorio7128 Nice! Haha. I would really like to get an all Trident infrared burner Lynx but I'm not sure if it's worth the money vs a Blaze or heck, even a Napoleon prestige pro to save a lot of money. The Lynx or a Hestan would definitely be a sweet grill though!

I got to see the lynx in person and the hood felt so light it felt cheap. Not like the heavy dcs. Is that how the artisan is and is that just cause of the spring assist?

Can confirm I was in a showroom and went to lift the lid on the Artisan and I thought it was broken. Lol. It felt soooooo light. And my immediate thoughts were….damn this is some cheap garbage. Keep in mind I had never heard of the brand prior to walking up on it. Having said that once I did my research I found out it’s a good grill just the lid feels really cheap when lifting.

I purchased an artisan. I can't help but feel that the ceramic briquettes, being flat, will lead to more flare ups unless i clean it frequently. Feels like I just bought myself a puppy.
