+at9670 I hear you. However, it is still a bit, uhm, tacky for a new Alpha Romeo, giving it a kit car character, don't you think? It would always kinda bother me, well, unless it did sound ridiculously good with neon underglow sync'd to the music...

This is Alfa's swansong. The 4C is a masterpiece and is as pure as a 1969 Mk1 1750GTV. I thought Alfa had gone forever. It is their modern day Magnus Opus. I have a 4C Spider and adore it.

Hey - I'm a nerd: I really enjoyed the quality of the narration from a guy with the top down, very clean; I've watched tons of One Take's with Matt, and his sound is rough with the windows up, inside the car. It's the little things. Also, maybe I'm in the minority, but I thought Mike's script and delivery was high quality. Can't wait for more.

The stereo deck might actually turn out to be a feature. Convertibles like this are always saved and desirable so even 30 years from now someone will want this for their car. The deck makes the stereo easy to update since it's a standard size.

There is one thing Alfa Romeo does that other cars at least in that price category never get right...every Alfa Romeo driver knows what it is. Before buying my first Alfa everyone was saying no do not do it it is garbage, after i bought ( it was 1998 156 1.6 silver)that car everyone wanted to drive it and loved it suddenly,i crashed my second one into the back of the bus whole front was damaged and i kept driving it for 2 weeks before selling it, even cops who stoped me becouse of that were amazed. Saying all of that just one thing makes me angry about Alfa Romeo, every time they make a car it is like they hold back and are affraid to do everything they can to produce the best fucking car of them all, no matter how much it cost.

It's quick to 60 doing it in about 4.5 seconds but if I spent the best part of £50k on a car I would want it too keep pulling past 60, this thing runs out of push at 160mph and I bet it takes a long time to get to it compared to a Cayman or even a M2. I guess I'm not the target market but I find it almost amazing that they sell any of these

Why? I'm the consumer. If I don't like it, I don't have to buy it, and unfortunately for Alfa, as their sales numbers have shown, most people in America don't just want a loud car. They want a car with some actual harmonic, if not somewhat musical qualities. The 4C and F-Type are just blind noise. The Cayman and Boxster sing! That is a sad thing to admit coming from a long time Brerra, 156, and GTV6 fan. This is no Lampredi twin cam, and it didn't take car people (the ONLY audience who would ever consider something like this) very long to figure that out.

+flyingphoenix113 Loud car? Everyday there is a civic, camaro, mustang or corvette blaring down the road. Maybe not where you live but in Texas loud trucks and cars as far as the eye can see. Alfa needs help buy one lol

Daniel Castaneda I am also in Texas and know exactly what you are talking about, but the 4C is contributing to the problem, not solving it. Whenever I hear a quality sound like a Carrera GT, Mercedes SLS, McLaren Mp4-12C, Ferrari 458, Testarossa, Murcielago SV, Countatch Quattrovalve, etc. (my town has some great cars), it doesn't make me annoyed. It makes me listen and savor every audible decibel. Close your eyes when you hear the 4C. Is it really that far away from that turbo civic or Integra? (despite not revving as high) If you have to strain to tell a difference, it's not a quality sound. And in Texas, as I'm sure you have experienced, quantity has lost its quality. It used to "have a quality all its own" as the saying goes, but it's lost any semblance of that saying with all of these straight piped, cat-delete pony cars and Japanese hatch backs.

So sound is your biggest factor it "sounds"(pun subconsciously intended) like. I can understand that to each their own. Interesting how the majority just want straight piped. I just bought a red abarth and that sound coming from that vehicle is insanely enjoyable. Lots of character in that car. So Porsche for you then??? What about Lotus EvoraS have you heard the new EVORA 400 omg sounds like heaven!!!

Semi sophisticated? Carbon tub, dual clutch tranny that's more than you can say for any other American-made sports car for less money none the less. Makes you wonder why we're paying such high prices for Camaros and Mustangs.

+NIGHTFOX Didn't mean to sound condescending. I was talking about the Alfa in relation to $250,000 sports cars, not $30,000 Mustangs.

+NIGHTFOX Good point. Maybe if some materials tech trickles down from the Ford GT, the next-gen Mustang might?

+NIGHTFOX because the guys who can pay $60k for a new car want luxury and creature comforts.

+/DRIVE back I have owned plenty of Mustangs, Corvettes, Z28, Trans-ams etc. American sports car always leaves me hanging in a sense, it always seems incomplete. Today's generations of mustangs and Camaros even though the best ones we've had yet seem to be missing an ingredient for instance a proper duel clutch gearbox. Considering the mass production of these vehicles I don't see why they couldn't have made an effort to for once present a package to a customer that can make us proud of American cars instead of presenting us with just enough to get by. In a sports car sport comes first, for me anyways.

Don't compare this car to a Miata dude. Compare it to a Toyota Mr2.

+Jesse Underdog I agree, I love the styling and am considering one of these for my next weekend/track car (currently have a WRX) but not being able to have a clutch pedal or power steering may have me looking elsewhere. Haven't driven one yet tho, may not be an issue.

+tony mandujano I agree. It looks so exotic... Carbon fiber monocoque, light weight, raw steering feel, nothing else like it on the road for under 100k! And its base is 55K, I mean what's not to like.
