This is a great perfomance from Wiessenberg. He shows up how good companion to the Orchestra he could be when that one was well conducted. His amazing piano shows plenty of sensitivity, really an exquisite playing. Shows too his excellent technique, in which every note can be so distinctively heard. Think this may be the right performance to buy, instead of what he did with Karajan, whom I have always disliked. Here the dialogue with the orchestra is the due one, a real dialogue, not what happens in the one with that overvalued Karajan. The soloist shouldn't tolerate to record a war of egos in which the orchestra plays let's say one way, when you are playing it in another mood. Gian Carlo Maria Giulini was a fine conductor who must have understood very well what was the architecture conception Wiessenberg had of this concerto and so they join to do it with same ideas and feelings. Everything is in it's place, no one tries to overshadow the other. Great, excellent interpretaion which I highly recommend. A good proof of whom Wiessenberg was. Love it. ❤😍👍💎 P. S. -Find the 68 recording very good too. Will try to get it.
