Seeing how AG is savy enough to make an in fight adjustment to stuff takedowns and just always working, the rematch will be even tougher for VS. Itll be hard for her to make changes, she is who she is and its been fabulous but at some pt someone will negate it. AG has never fought in southpaw, showcased at the ceremoniall weigh in, always traditional Orthodox and it gave and will continue to stifle VSs offense. AG is alot stronger and tougher than she looks and carries herself lol. She just beat a solid VS straight up. Having the skill but also balls to close that gap and take her back was amazing. Most women step back to avoid it and AG had also up until then, not a mistake by VS but rather a damn good fighter in AG taking advantage of a potential opportunity. Good fight though!

It speaks a lot to how dangerous a person really is when they come across as an Angel and so sweet and timid under these circumstances. People need to recognize that for Mexicans respect is above all else , Thier calmness and focus is deadly , don't sleep on Mexican fighters just cause they are respectful don't mean that there timid or weak,it's the calm before the storm.

For sure Mexicans don't own "DANGEROUS" ... People we're disregarding Grasso as a creditable threat bc of her calm almost to nice demeanor. This demeanor is characteristic is what most Mexican fighters have and bc of it their opponents and fans tend to undermine them as not being a serious threat ...But time after time they triumph with Thier hands raised after the fight while still being humble and respectful.. That's a very dangerous person that can hold composure under that type of pressure... Wouldn't you agree?

Alexa needs more and better grappling training. Strength and conditioning may also help her to be more well-rounded as a champion. A rematch may surprise us again!! She is learning a lot. But in the rematch it would be great if she was able to stop Valentina on the ground. Valentina is also great! Valentina needs to be motivated like she was prior to the fight against Taila Santos. The Taila Santos fight was won by luck and the judges. If Valentina returns to the cage she must get her finishing instinct back.Valentina has been the greatest pound for pound women´s MMA of all time. Rousey was great. She was our pioneering champion. Nuñes was the greatest until the second fight against Valentina. Valentina did beat Nunez in their second fight. If Valentina has lost the motivation after beating everybody for a couple of years, well rounded fighters like Alexa Grasso, Amanda Lemus, Taila Santos, and Erin Blanchfield are hungry enough to take her championship. I take nothing away from Alexa Grasso. She has better boxing than anyone in the flyweight division. She was dominated on the ground by Valentina. That should not happen in a rematch. Alexa needs more strength and conditioning as well as a great grappling coach that can help her transition from muscle memory. If she does this Valentina will not beat her, as Alexa has the necessary finishing instinct. Taking down defence must be be instinctual. Alexa´s boxing is immaculate.The LOBOS GYM and Her uncle must also be congratulated.

She sounds like a worthy champion. If she continues to train hard she will keep the belt for years to come. I hope she will come up with new strategies in her rematch with Shevchenko.

You know what I think you might have been right about that I think if the referee didn't stop the fight and stand up Mom Valentina probably would have ground impounded her into a TKO so in other words grasso really did get lucky because of the referee wouldn't have stopped them instead of month Valentina what a ground-and-pound it hurt into a TKO probably but unfortunately will never know

Alexa Grasso is excellent, incredible victory! Such a nice person as well. Just one comment if I may on the subject of women learning martial arts to protect themselves. Of course this is a very good idea. But I feel the subject of MEN'S safety is always overlooked by people. Men get attacked the most in society. They form easily the greater number of murder and street assault victims, far more than women. Many don't realise this. The reason is most male attackers will not attack women through a sense of chivalry and honour, whereas men are 'fair game' (equally if women are attacked it is more likely to be from other women as there is no great social taboo this way). It is easy to think that because men are generally bigger and stronger that they can defend themselves. But if you end up dead, beaten up, stabbed, mugged etc then you obviously COULDN'T defend yourself effectively, otherwise that wouldn't have happened. Their families care about them no less and suffer no less when they get killed. We tend to place far more emphasis on protecting women than men. For example self defence classes are often only offered to women, men are excluded. Of course we should care about women's safety but I believe we should care about men's equally. This would be better for women too as they could get the situation into better perspective and be less fearful when they realise they are not as vulnerable to being attacked as society thinks they are. Thank you.

She better not do the Valentina rematch she will loose. She doesn’t have the skill set to deal with Valentina even though “the bullet” has clearly lost a step it just plays into her hands style wise. She should take on the French girl Firot because she may have a better chance of winning. Not being hateful it’s just the way I see it. Glad see won good for her.

I doubt it. Her striking is much better and next time she’ll be training her take down defense. I really wouldn’t be surprised if she dominates the rematch. Remember that Valentina is getting older!
