Hi! I decided to create a second channel "Sounds of Nature by ALEX", on which I will upload videos with sounds of nature. I love nature very much, and I like all natural sounds: birds singing, water murmuring, rain noise, wind noise. These sounds calm me down. Alex, I am enjoying this series immensely. Thank you. If I might make a suggestion, though, a trapdoor or lid over the stairwell to the dugout seems like a good idea. Put it in place as you leave and, when you return, shoveling away the snow will be much easier. Clear the snow from the trapdoor, pull it away and you have a nice clear entry to your cabin.

I totally agree with you! but now it is very difficult to find dead trees...all building materials are under the snow

It would add some ventilation and a possible fire escape in an emergency.

I hear ya. I`ve got arthritis, and every winter gets harder. watching quality shows like this helps keep me from going bonkers. then I get all these bright ideas, and forget I can`t do things anymore lol.

Oh I hate to hear about your arthritis, between the barometric pressure and the major winter storm that came I can feel it too!

@@jackmehoff2961 I know that feeling, I have had arthritis since I was 18, in my early 20's I moved to the tropics knowing that winters were only going to get worse as I get older, I now live in the sub tropics but at 27ºS it's not so bad, winters are short and mild. If you can move closer to the equator.

I enjoy so much watching your videos. I am 74 years old, and my favorite part in addition to you building your cabin is at night when you settle in and fix your food to eat. It looks so cozy and comfortable. My only suggestion would be that you need a dog!!!😜. Can't wait to see your new addition to your cabin. Take care!

i find the peace of wilderness from just watching your vids. back to simpler time. you do need a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector and an emergency exit. and that little oven you have there is priceless. when i think of all the inner city youngsters who are doing drugs, gang banging, racing around and crashing cars i wish they could be inspired by your back to nature culture. stay safe.

You might want to notch the roof spars on that so they can help the rigidity of the corner posts. when the snow melts the soils gonna get wet (and heavy) for a few days and it will probably put alot of stress on the overall box frame.. notching the roof spars mean the weight of the dirt will be spread thru the whole frame instead of just thru the nails. That said this dugout is just plain cool. I always look forward to your next upload

I simply cannot wait to see how this little extention turns out. It will lose heat being bigger but at least you can now make it a 2 bedroom place bring to a mate along and keep you company.

shutters on your window would probably help not only to keep the snow away, but would also help to keep the heat in in the winder and the cool in the summer. I am sure that you have plans on how to protect your entrance from rain water and snow. Would keep it clean and dry.

Dein Unterstand ist sehr gut gebaut, mir gefällt speziell auch der Tolle Ofen. Die im Video gezeigte Erweiterung sieht gut aus, ebenfalls sehr stabile Konstruktion. Ja, eine echte Überlebens Hütte. 🌟

What was 118℉? Surely not the room, because that would be completely miserable, and an insane temperature difference from the snowy outdoors. Very nice job on the little cabin!

This will probably sound strange I enjoy seeing the minimal packaging on the products he buys. Here in the US most of the things he carries, would be packaged in mounds of plastic, over plastic
