I just watched the movie. I feel so happy. I can't stop giggling. I feel like I'm in love with life. Maybe I am. Even if it's just for the following hours. This music just makes it even better. I swear this is like feeling the sun rays after being in the dark for days. I feel warm. Warm is good.

I don't think so.. I mean alex turner and the Arctic monkeys don't typically create songs like these ones.. but i think their acoustic songs might be similar. Arctic Monkeys have a whole acoustic album called "straighten the rudder"

0:00 I'm not the kind of fool Who's gonna sit and sing to you About stars, girl But last night I looked up into The dark half of the blue And they'd gone backwards 0:54 Tomorrow I'll be quicker I'll stare into the strobe light flicker And afloat I'll stay But I'm quite alright hiding today Tomorrow I'll be faster I'll catch what I've been chasing after And have time to play I'm quite alright hiding today And I will play the coconut shy Win a prize even if it's rigged I won't know when to stop And you can leave off my lid, and I won't even lose my fizz I'll be the Polka dots tie I'll know the way back, if you know the way But if you are, I'm quite alright, hiding today Tomorrow I'll be stronger, running colourful No longer just in black and white And I'm quite alright hiding tonight And I will have a game on the coconut shy Win a prize even if it's rigged I won't know when to stop And you can leave off my lid, and I won't even lose my fizz I'll be the Polka dots tie I'll probably swim through a few lagoons I'll have a spring in my step And I'll get there soon To sing you a happy tune, tomorrow And you better bring a change of clothes So we can sail our laughing pianos along a beam of light But I'm quite alright Hiding tonight 4:00 There's glass in the park Darling, I can't help but keep making appointments To sweep beneath the climbing frame If the sun's in your eyes, I'll tighten your blindfold, baby Don't worry your foot won't get cut Strut carelessly And when you say that you need me tonight I can't keep my feelings in disguise The white parts of my eyeballs illuminate And I'll wait for you As if I'm waiting for a stone to stop I've heard them talking About how I'm gonna put you off There's glass in the park And now that I'm up off my knees I've picked up the speed To jump your palaces And I shoot through the night And suddenly all those once lost concoctions froth And chase the day away When you say that you need me tonight I can't keep my feelings in disguise The white part of my eyeballs illuminate And I'll wait for you As if I'm waiting for the stone to stop I've heard them talking About how I'm gonna put you off You tell me, "how can I put you off when you're a matter of urgency?" I've got a million things that I need to do, but they're all secondary Make sure you're not followed Meet me by the Death Balloon Paraselene woman, I'm your man on the moon And like a grain of diamond dust, you float And my devotion's outer crust… cracks 8:00 It's like you're trying to get to heaven in a hurry And the queue was shorter Tan you thought it would be And the doorman says you need to get a wristband You've got to lift between the pitfalls But you're looking like you're low on energy Did you get out and walk to ensure you'd miss the quicksand? Looking for a new place to begin Feeling like it's hard to understand But as long as you still keep peppering the pill You'll find a way to spit it out, again And even when you know the way it's gonna blow It's hard to get around the wind Stretching out the neck on your evening Trying to even out some deficit But it's saber tooth multi-ball confusion And you can shriek until you're hollow Or whisper it the other way Trying to save the youth without putting your shoes on Looking for a new place to begin Feeling like it's hard to understand But as long as you still keep peppering the pill You'll find a way to spit it out, again And even when you know the way it's gonna blow It's hard to get around the wind I can hear you through my window But I'm never quite sure who is who But they want the world on a dessert spoon It always sounds like they're fighting Or as if that's what they're about to do It might not hurt now but it's going to hurt soon 12:07 I'm not the kind of fool Who's gonna sit and sing to you About stars, girl But last night I looked up into The dark half of the blue And they'd gone backwards Something in your magnetism Must have pissed them off Forcing them to get an early night I have been searching from The bottom to the top For such a sight As the one I caught when I saw your Fingers dimmed in the light Like you're used to being told that you're trouble And I spent all night Stuck on the puzzle Nobody I asked Knew how he came to be the one To whom you surrendered Any man who wasn't led away Into the other room Stood pretending But something in your magnetism Hadn't just made him drop Whoever's hand it was that he was holding. I have been searching From the bottom to the top For such a sight As the one I caught when I saw your Fingers dimmed in the light Like your used to being told that you're trouble And I spent all night Stuck on the puzzle I tried to swim to the side But my feet got caught in the middle And I thought I'd seen the light But oh, no I was just stuck on the puzzle Stuck on the puzzle 15:04 I etched the face of a stopwatch On the back of a raindrop And did a swap for the sand in an hourglass I heard an unhappy ending It sort of sounds like you’re leaving I heard the piledriver waltz* It woke me up this morning You look like you’ve been for breakfast at the heartbreak hotel Inside of a back booth by the Pamphlets and the literature on how to lose Your waitress was miserable and so was your food If you’re gonna try and walk on water Make sure you wear your comfortable shoes Mysteries flashing amber go green when you answer But the red on the rest of the questionnaire never changes I heard the news that You’re trying to shoot me out of a cannon I heard the piledriver waltz It woke me up this morning You look like you’ve been for breakfast at the heartbreak hotel Inside of a back booth by the Pamphlets and the literature on how to lose Your waitress was miserable and so was your food If you’re gonna try and walk on water Make sure you wear your comfortable shoes Oh, piledriver

I remember listening to this entire beautiful album, much more before seeing the movie, it was a journey of mixed feelings, I couldn't stop listening to it every day, it reminded me so much of her, each song was like returning to those lived moments that are now no more. What simple memories distorted by time, it was 2020, I was locked in my room and depressed, now I listen again and return to those cold nights of August 2020

this is my favorite album. it is the kind of thing so unknown and special and emotional and little you just don´t show it to anyone because it feels like you are leaving a part of your soul bare if they discover it, and it would be your fault, it is the thing you don´t want to associate with anyone in your life in case things turn wrong and you get a bitter taste just listening to their name, it is the thing like many wonderful things that shall remain uncovered for the rest of humanity until you find it, in a lazy afternoon, by chance and just sit in awe. you don´t want to listen to it too much in case the feelings dull over time, but you can´t listen to it enough, it is the kind of thing you don´t show to anyone , because it would feel like walking barefoot on the street, or shaving your hair off or just showing yourself as you are, it feels naked and debilitating and either way this album is so subtle and short and beautiful it makes you feel things you cant even describe, like butterflies in your shoulders and your back but not in your stomach, a feeling of sheer happy sadness

Well, if one assumes that falling in love requires more than physical attraction, which, in my opinion, is a fair assumption, one can assume that what he felt wasn't love at all. But, then again, you might be right. I don't really know anything about love in general, let alone this guy's way of loving in particular. I just said it cause I've thought, in the past, that I was in love with someone, but I wasn't really. Anyway.

Kaylee Lambert I have an obsession over literary characters since I just love to read. His words in his songs appear to me like a story, and I would think I view him as this fictional character that cannot be sought after - but just admired from afar. Then again, that is with most celebrities, but I suspect with him it is something more special. I sound love-sick and pathetic!

Submarine had been on my watch list for a long time even though I knew Alex made an album for it (huge fan of AM) but not until I fell for a guy who loves this. I gave it a shot and watched it with nothing but to just put it in my story so hopefully he will notice it. I kept crying when it ended and heard Alex's voice. I don't even know what to feel rn. This film is like the amalgamation of every nostalgic dream I had that been kept repeating for years-til now. The dream I badly wanna repeat in my head and hopefully live into it. The cinematography, the scenes, every inch of it is the exact replica of the feeling.

I can't say that it is an underrated album, yet I think it's a bit under appreciated. I got no any facts about what I've said, but it feels like on that way somehow. But, for me, this is one of the most greatest album has ever written. Cause of the unique vibe, poured with unbelievably different lyrics on it, with the rarest feeling, that I'm sure not only I experienced during listening to *Submarine*. It makes you feel kinda sad and happy at the same time, and when these feelings are crash, or better say _crush_ :) on each other, you literally sweating and realizing that life is beautiful in its way, it gives you some sort of 2nd life, If I can say so. I couldn't helped to myself and just shared it with you guys, it was written from my heart I swear. And biggest excuses, whoever read it and got bothered.

It really is a hidden gem in Alex Turner's canon of marvellous songs, I think been released during Arctic Monkeys commercial fallow period inbetween Humbug and SIAS didn't help it, I don't think it got many reviews and was overshadowed by Monkeys new release SIAS which was released three months later I believe. I think Stuck on a Puzzle is a lost gem and would have fitted perfectly on SIAS, Hiding tonight Glass in the Park and it's hard to get around the wind could have been strong B-sides, as we know the Monkeys have some strong B-sides. I got to say Hiding Tonight is such a lovely song, I prefer the version of Piledriver Waltz on this then the slighter heavier one on SIAS. The Imagine era Lennon vibe to the Submarine version always wins out. It's great to see this has got over 1 million views as it shows it's got a huge following, it's got some of Turner's greatest lyrics for me and you'd wish he done a few more songs like this for the album.

Roksanche B I agree for sure cause it's a perfect EP really, it's got some of Turner's more laid back moments in Stuck on a Puzzle and Piledriver Waltz two of his greatest songs. I think with it over million views I think it's so slowly getting the attention it deserves.

This album has so much emotional meaning for me. It kinda makes me sad, but comforts me at the same time. If I were to give one piece of advice, its this: Love while you can. Don't let opportunities to express your feelings pass away. Seriously, just love, and make it count, for something. Even if its just a good memory, its better than nothing, or imagining how things could've been.

This song, Alex and the Artic Monkeys represent one of the times in my lives that will always stay in my memory regardless of where or who I end up with in my life, I had severe insomnia but I was seeing this girl who was 6 years younger to me who finally made it feel like I want to be with someone for the rest of my life. I ignored every red flag of this girl and this is one of the facts that is represented by Alex' lyrics (used to be told that you're trouble) I did because she made me feel happy like I hadn't felt in a long time. Long story short, I lived moments with this girl that I cherish to this day, but it did end a very long time ago although which affected me in a very bad way although I want every single person suffering from this to know that it is you that is responsible and in control of every single thought, emotion and feeling that you are experiencing and the sooner you understand that, the happier you'll be, and coming from someone that has gone from an insomniac in love to someone getting 10 hours of sleep, it is all you, always was and always has been.

This music evokes a deep sense of melancholy within me. It is inexorably linked to my experience of watching Submarine with my then -girlfriend and getting that same melancholic feeling. Back then I didn't know the cause of the feeling- however now I know it to be the result investing two years with someone who I knew deep down wasn't right for me. That relationship ended a year ago and I haven't been with anyone since.
