Alex Rudinger - Whitechapel - "Without Us"
Музыка
Despite the fact that I'm no longer with Whitechapel, I'm still immensely proud of 'KIN'. So awhile back I recorded a few more play-throughs for some of my favorite tunes from the album - while the material was still relatively 'fresh' for me. Here's the 4th (of 4) - "WITHOUT US".
Now, I thought this would be my very last 'Chapel-Playthru ever. But it turns out, I actually have some more that I totally forgot about (Lol!). So I will likely upload those in the not-so-distant future, too. This is however the last 'KIN' play-through; the others that I have are from older albums! Couple fairly tech one's... not quite sure how I totally forgot about them, but it was a pleasant surprise when I realized I'd actually already tracked / made videos for em'. Lol!
At ANY rate: "Without Us" is another one of my favorites from 'KIN'. Similar to "Anticure", there isn't too much craziness going on drum-wise - it's just a super heavy, sick, rockin' song (in my opinion, Lol!). If you've yet to check out 'KIN' in its entirety, please do so (available on all platforms!).

Your play-throughs before the album came out is what brought the album to my attention.
Considering leaving my family and quitting my job so I can watch videos of you playing all day.
My favorite song off the album. The swings from melodic to hard. The singing on the track. Masterful album
It's simple; I listened to most of the newest album just to hear your magnificent work as a percussionist.
He's just so CLEAN
Wow theese 15th sound like f""ng WOW!!!🤘🔥
Well now i gotta go play some drums lol epic playing as always man
Arguably some of your best work, my friend. Great song and the fills are fresh. That snare is killer too!
This is my favorite track of the album. Everything about it is a damn work of art. The cymbal work is Stewart Copeland level drumming. Amazing job Alex, and everyone in the band on this entire album, and THANK YOU!
This is the best album i've ever heard. Thank you Alex!

@@TylerHNothing Specific musical appreciation is subjective. Your preferences are moot in regards to the best album he has ever heard. I could name a minimum of 30 albums which are, unequivocally, instrumentally superior to the 2 you mentioned, but more importantly, they’re much heavier/faster because that’s what I’m into. Neither of us can claim that our respective tastes are more musically significant than the other. I do like PINK FLOYD though.
I have not given this album enough listens yet. I forgot how amazing this song is.
Alex brought such a heavy agressive, yet emotional feel to the album with his playing man, its so awesome to see/hear. Great work bud!
Yesss, you've made me a huge Whitechapel fan
I love this because i can here what all the instruments are doing without phil's voice and also this is by far the best song on the album
I knew i should have gone to see chapel with rudi
Loving that bass tone....
Thank you for your time you being the drummer for whitechapel. I had the biggest shock face when I heard you left the band.😮
Bro, alex..... you never disappoint man! Much love Rudi
Man, every video you make is just amazing. Can't say enough how much I love the sound, the symmetry, the power and the precision 🤘🤘
the finesse.
This album is so fucking good it's become one of my favourites from the last few years. You posting these playthroughs is amazing
Whole album is a masterpiece ❤
Man, that's a beautiful 🔊🎵🎶 heavy clean sound, you can hear every note from everyone.
That final CH tho!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
You and Anup have the best drum videos out there. Ear candy
Loved that you did a playthrough of this track! One of my favorites from Kin. A bit disappointed that we won't see you do playthroughs of the rest of the album, but I understand. Stoked to see you perform the older Whitechapel songs though!
Been watching you for what seems like 10 years. So glad I saw the beginning
Thanks for this man !!! Love You
So damn good
I teared up a bit while watching Whitechapel last week in Melbourne, not because it's my favourite deathcore band cause my favourite Drummer wasn't there to play with them. Waited so long to see you live but yet failed . 😔
Please join them again
Man that opening riff and groove just STOMPS so fucking hard.
Favorite song off the album and I am so happy you uploaded this!!! Thank you 🤘🏽
so goddamn solid
Probably my favorite track on the album.. one of the best drummer's out there 🧞
3:26 your accent and fill work is so damn tasty!
Alex killing it, I enjoyed see WC last year!
Rudi is a drum legend
I wish you were still in the band but thank you for recording the drums for the album.
Excellent drumming brother! You played that flawlessly! 🤘🤘🤘
Love the video.
The first part like a Meshuggah song “Break Those Bones Who Sinews Gave It Motion” 😂, but i like it!
greeting from Morocco
You did such a fantastic job on this album!
La influencia de Casagrande es indiscutible... Me encataaaaaaaaaaa 🔥☠️🥁🥁🥁🎵🎶
Love me some white chapel! Thanks for the inspiration to start my own album. Took me long enough haha.
God those Tom fills are the best
Drinking while working is vorbidden. I like setting the gost notes. Greetz
Incredible!! Such an asset to Whitechapel. I’d love to know why you left the band
heck yeah Rudi!
Wish you were still with the band.
Oh Ya that's bad ass, I love drums, but could never play. I also love white chapel
Overview Lyrics Come to the surface, my son You're not breathing so well I couldn't stand to lose you another time But this is not real, we're not here Don't you understand that we've already lost one another? Please accept reality So I can finally be free Where will we be in the years to come? I know somewhere inside you is me Crying out for help, but I'm right here with you Begging you to see the hell we've created I know it's hard to accept the truth But it's time to let this all go Let this all go Let this all go I'm holding onto your neck It's taking everything for me to not watch you Fade out into the sound of nothing But this is not real, we're not here Don't you understand that we both have to move on together? Without you, there's no me There's no us, there's no family It's so dark, it's so quiet now Is there anyone out there? Anyone? I'm alone again, just what I'm used to I'm here, bow to the ancient God The portal is shut, locked, no way out This is home This isn't home, it's hell with a lovely face The mask just hides the truth that controls our fate Take a look around, my friend That part of our life is dead So tell me where will we be in the years to come? I know somewhere inside you is me Crying out for help, but I'm right here with you Begging you to see the hell we've created I know it's hard to accept the truth But it's time to let this all go Let this all go
I'm not sure why, as these drum parts and tones are some of the best I've heard in modern metal. However, I'm just still gutted that things couldn't work out. I was really hoping you had found your spot in a good band. It's a shame you never seemed to get the recognition you deserved there!
Thought this was a The Acacia Strain track at first lmao

I would love you make a cover a krosis, the first album is the best and very musical
You really bury those rim-shots Alex.
Crazy seeing you play like a mortal 🤣🤘
I always thought Alex's intricacies and fills were in a way too "fancy" for Whitechapel - like, listening to the music as a whole, I'd never notice the subtleties and nuances he brings to the kit, but watching him is another story. I'll miss him in the band, but I'm excited to see what's next. I'd be shocked if he doesn't end up in a big name band very soon.

Man Navene Koperweis did the same for them on The Valley, and the guy before was a beast too. Ben something I think. Whitechapel cannot seem to keep a drummer which is ironic bc their albums over time have had outstanding mf drumming on MANY tracks. It just keeps coming nonetheless!
It’s time to let this all go
Dude you need to report the spam account that's responding to everyone of the comments on here. Btw, amazing playthrough.
Ayye, Tama bottles water now? 🤣
Would be awesome to have a "drum battle" with a gospel chops guy, your playing is super clean and groovy
Sick playthrough as always! As for the snare, if you have the serial number Tama could be able to pull up the specs. Would love to see it!
The dots above U in Rudinger resemble double kick
@alexrudinger can you please upload the old ordinance and threat signal videos please. I know they took them down for one reason or another but it would be cool if you could upload them elsewhere or even just the audio. Let me know
The drums riff more than the guitars, I like it
Dude! That sounded tight?
That snare is straight up illegal
3:07 🤣
hi Alex, could you pls provide notes (or tabs) for an old Threat Signal - Trust in None? P.S. you are awesome!

Shadow of Intent cover plzzz!
So fucking good. Your fill composition is just next level. Snare sounds insane too (whole kit does tbf).
are you able to make a quick video on your pedal settings please?...thanks advance :)
\m/
So Alex, just wondering if that give-away is the real thing, or just spammers?oO
What kick pedals are you using?
hmm... is it posible to cell you my soul to get your drum sound :D ?
I DONT SEE "THE SAW IS THE LAW" HERE
It’s just not fair to the rest of us
While I’ll always love Rudi’s work, man WC fell off hard. How do you go from the kings of Deathcore to putting people to sleep?
I'll never understand having a 30lb, $3000 snare... Only to make it sound like the default EZ Drummer snare.
Whitechapel was better with you in the band.
I looked and sounded incredibly difficult to play. Your details and accents separate you from most drummers imo.
Great drummer, not a fan of the song
0:48 this sequence really had me messed up for second cause the movement made it looked like you played a one-handed flam with your left hand between the china and snare. I was like "I know he's good, but come on there's no way!"😅
