Greatest of all time. His shooting percentage is greater than Gretzky’s when you consider that this is a league that has a much lower goals per game average than Gretzky’s era. Greatest pure goal scorer to ever hit the ice. Always been clean, always made his presence felt with physicality, and he’s a fantastic leader. Ovi is the GOAT

agree, hes the best. if ya could pick any player, from any era hed be my 1st pick. imagine a playoff series against gretzky.? wayne was great, but an un writen rule sayin ya cant hit him. well if ovi hit him, hed be crushed, that would ware him down, after a few games. and in todays hockey he would b hit. get any enforcer ya want, i"d counter with a better 1. i meant cuz the game is faster, wayne would get hit.

Forsberg was different in that I rarely if ever saw him hit clean. More of an opportunistic checker, not face to face like Ovechkin. Ovechkin in most of these highlights is meeting the player when their head is up. Peter "Foreskin" used to hit from behind and usually from the side by sneaking up on players with their heads down. Check it out, prove me wrong.

@Mike True, and goalies are also WAY bigger. 6'4 is a normal goalie now. That's not considered "tall" for a goalie. On the other hand, composite sticks give everyone a canon of a snapshot. Players with "terrible" shots still get snapshots off like rockets. Composite sticks have made every player's shot dangerous, and elevated the best's as well.

Like I said if that was Tom Wilson's fighting the rookie it would be he would be a goon. The rookie look hesitate at first but Ovi seems to pick the right battles that makes him look really tough but he hasn't fought any tough guys and that is why it is an overated fight or win for Ovi and it is just an highlighted reel for the world to see.
