No. Their job is not to bring in revenue. Their job is to win. That is the logic in sports. To win. Fifa's job is to advertise, and provide equal financial investment into all (including Women's) soccer so that the sport itself brings in revenue...they have failed...not lay it on the players. The athlete's job is to WIN only. FIFA does not advertise or sepnd nearly as much on women as they do on men from even grass root movement. It trickles up.

Men's football in total generates more money overall therefore Fifa end up giving more money to the men's national teams at the end of tournaments. It's not rocket science. In case you didn't get it, he's basically saying that if a youtuber joins youtube with 4k subs, he should be paid the same as pewdiepie who has over 100m subs just because they do the same job. It isn't about skill, it's about viewership and influence.

It seems like the equal pay thing comes from a misunderstanding. The men get a higher demand to watch their games, but they get a small percentage from a bigger pot; whereas the women get a bigger percentage from a much smaller pot. Whoever's paying them can't afford to give them the same amount of cash for that reason, plus the percentages paid out is highly in the women's favour without having an equal amount of interest, so they're already shelling out more than is required if they were to pay based on what they get back. But also, I don't know what happened for the world champions to get beaten 5-2 in real life by kids under 15 (who weren't even the best U15's in the world), but that does the argument no favours. To be fair, a rematch would definitely have half the world watching 😂

Women would rather watch real housewives or The Kardashians than the FIFA Women's World Cup. There are a lot of people who watch the Women's World Cup bit compare that to men where the Premiere League gets more viewership than the Women's world cup you can see why many sponsors would rather spend their money for the men's side of football. Leonel Messi's contract for PSG back in 2021 was 25 million Euros.

Men’s World Cup generates 4 billion and the Women’s 300 million, so how can they seriously expect equal pay when the numbers prove that’s it’s not possible

The women's national team actually does make the US soccer Federation approx. equal, if not slightly more, revenue than the men's team. It's true that globally the women's game is way smaller, but within the US (and particularly as it pertains to the US Federation's revenue) it is a lot more complicated.

@@CommaCam I call bs England has consistently tried to encourage women in to sports since I've been alive which just over 30 years and probably before that. teachers schools parents even kids but most of them weren't interested when I was in primary school there was only one girl interested in football and used come knocking on my asked me come out to play football and big gang of us used to play we would ask other girls but they weren't interested and theres only so many times you're going to ask Ill accept that there were hardly any female hero's to inspire woman and a bunch of social norms that didn't make it easy I glad to see women out there rising to the top just not the divisive bs that comes with it

Ik it’s a late comment to it but adding on, Ok this is a while back but in 2010, the mens World Cup made 4 billion dollars yet the women’s World Cup only made 73 million dollars which means that the men made 54 times more then the women’s World Cup which is a significant gap. This shows that men’s soccer is more popular than women’s soccer. If you guys want a more recent update, in 2018( which was the men’s World Cup) the men made 5.4 billion dollars and women’s made 131 million dollars which is another significant margin of pay. For men, the World Cup prize money in 2018 was 400 million in prize money and the women’s was 30 million. Since men’s soccer have more interest and people they make more. Since women don’t, they make less. But going back to the recent World Cup, the entire women’s tournament made 131 million and the men’s prize was 400 million. The women made a little more than 1/4 of the men’s prize yet want equal pay🤨. Where that extra almost 300 million coming from?

Are you also one to disagree with the income tax levels? I.e. those who are earning millions a year paying 50%, those earning $40,000 paying 15% or so. Women’s soccer team are by far representing the American in international sports. Andrew E just because you have a small frame doesn't mean all life must now fit within a small frame. Is it common for strong women to make you feel inferior? Shoulder width and height matter little when deciding ones gender. At my school (in England) us boys played Soccer or Rugby or Cricket during P/E class and the girls would play Netball or Hockey. There was never any overlap. As this video said, the U.S. invested more in their team than any other country. In America, it's more of a mixed sport with both boys and girls playing it (not against each other).

@@user-bz5fn4pu2v a game is a game, and they lost at it, as simple as that. If you're saying they weren't trying, even we can just say that the men's team weren't trying and they were just going easy on their opponents.

Its called supply and demand. You literally learn it in highschool. Woman: Low demand Low wage Men: High demand High wage BTW, men are only paid 7% of revenue, while woman get 22%.....
