So satisfying to see Novak thrash that clown
Nothing better than watching someone who is past his prime, dealing with injury and emotional trauma, who feels betrayed by society yet still holding true to his morals and personal beliefs, demonstrating resolve and courage and proving that he is not yet irrelevant, when realistically he should be. He is not the strongest, fittest, fastest or the most physically gifted. Not tall, so he doesn't have the best serve. Never been creative like a Federer or a volleyer like Sampras or a gigantic server like a Kyrgios, Zverev, Medvedev, Tsitsipas yet still managing to evolve, adjust and overcome those incredible young talents. Nothing better than watching a righteous man on a mission to prove himself, that what this feels like, a slim sliver of justice. We wanted him to win because it feels like it somehow rights some of the wrongs in the world. Well done Novak, here's wishing you another 3 years of health, courage and dominance at the top of the game.

I don’t think he is a very good player, he needs to run short sprints in order to generate power, and Novak knows this, he hits mostly directly in De Minaur and when he returns weak, Novak usually hits a point. Simple as that. De Minaur probably thought there will be too much running and sprinting as he is one of the fastest players, but Novak is an old dog, showed him how average of a player he is with a simple tactic. This was the most dominant match Ive seen in 2023 and also 2022.

Watching this at 3 am and at 6:00 mark in the video, I thought we were in for a show that day.
1:00:23 The commentator: "He's actually, he's gone for more. Towards the end of the set, he's trying to hit the ball harder, going for the winners earlier and he's got his. It's almost he's put his jaw out and said I am going to make a statement here. I don't know whether someone made him angry a couple of games ago but since then he has had a, well. We talk about De Min, he's no, ... It's got a bit of a demonic look. He looks like he wants to really hurt the opposition here." Me: smiling.

Novak defeated the Minotaur as an invalid, convincingly 3:0 in sets, with an injured leg, he could not move as he knows how. Now imagine what Novak would have done to him if he was completely healthy?! Well, that would be a joke...
Novak is a so much elegant player...
this is the literal example of "chat shit, get banged!" haha poor Alex.
At 1.10.50 a stat mistake appears on screen. It was after a long rally and they stated that it was 23 shots long. Novak was serving (the server takes all of the odd numbered shots) while Alex was returning and taking all the even number shots. Alex took the last shot. It couldn't have been 23 shots. This occurs again at 1.13.49. It happens on TV time and time again. Around 50% of the time. Why? Has anyone else ever noticed this?
It was a battle wich De minaur will never recover

Novak whooped him up for that last yr press conference
Can you imagine Minaur's face when he found out he was playing the GOAT, and has been talking smack about him publicly the for a while hoping he would retire. 😆 Djokovic went from being a fake arrogant jagoff to a weird hippy because of his wife, so he's not exactly innocent either, and dimaur is right, we are all tired of the djokovic circus. Just like the michael jordan stlye of federer's bullying, connors and lendals over competitive nature that helped them win so many majors. A guy like Minaur is a absolute great human being, but will that translate into winning? Probably not. He'll probably never win a major, same with Goffin. But Minaur seems to be a pretty great guy already, a little too naïve and nice to compete in such a toxic and winning centered world.
Novak is like Haley’s comet, something you see once in a lifetime.
