Simply amazing the timing of your video. Just barely an hour ago I read the manual for this procedure and then it popped up here on YT. Too, too coincidental but also so helpful. First time I’ve seen one of your videos. Thanks.

I LOVE THIS! My everyday machine is my 201-2. I want to do some darning and might even a mock the zigzag for a button hole. Now, I will definitely load a sturdier needle. Thank you! 👏👏👏

Really appreciate those tips: drop the feet; drop the presser; use thicker needle, 16 or even 18; use a quilting hoop or whatever; faster is better! Thanks!

Nice! I've never tried that with my 201 machines. I've always used one of my model 15's because they hold more bobbin thread. Now I'm going to have to try it and compare them!

Thank you, Alex! I have just purchased my first 201 vintage Singer mainly because of this tutorial. I appreciate your no nonsense way of showing the benefits and ease of using this machine to quilt with. Thank you!

Hey Alex! Thanks for the great video. As I was trying it on my 201 I realized the stitch length lever kept wanting to move from the lowest point to the middle. Thought something was wrong until I consulted the manual-- my machine said to set the stitch length lever to the center "neutral" position. Did this and it stopped moving while sewing. not sure it applies to everyone, but thought it might help. Thanks for helping me learn!

This is such a great video! I am a beginner at FMQ and have tried on my Singer 66. I didn't know about the feed dog lowering lever. Wow! Mine is an older machine, but I will look for that adjustment option. I bought the darning plate, but it bumps the material up quite a bit. Love your video. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Alex, is it possible and easy to put the presser foot height back to its original setting once this has been done? I just wanted to share your video in a bag-making FB group, but the woman wasn’t interested as she’d done this to her previous machine and said she’d completely ruined it for doing dressmaking, because she couldn’t put the height back to its original setting, and so wouldn’t want to adjust her current Singer 201k because of that experience. 🤷‍♀️

Thank you for the video, I had no idea my machine had this function but unfortunately although it sews nicely with the feeddogs up, drop the feed dogs and the top thread fails to pick up the bobbin thread. I have tried every suggestion, none have worked. Other people also seem to have had this problem. Can you help at all? (I'm too far away to bring it to you. :( )

Some of the Fussy ladies. ,,,use a 11 or 14 needle,,,as they claim it makes a small hole,,, Next time use a bright colour thread.
