There is an easier way to 'check it'! Just hold your next fabric piece rst with the last one you just sewed and fold on the seam you just sewed. If the next section shows around your new fabric, you need a bigger cut. Much, much easier and more accurate than trying to fold your new fabric. My fingers always get caught in there and I end up with a lot more to cut off.
