I was today years old when I figured out this entire fucking album was based on an Edgar Allen Poe poem "Annabel Lee." Their 10th song on this album is literally called "In her tomb by the sounding sea" which is exactly from the poem itself. I liked this album so much and now I have another reason to love it; Poe is one of my favorite poets.

I remember one time in 7th grade Theater class, there was a sticker with the word "Thespian" on it, and, having known this song from Tap Tap Revenge 3, I told the teacher there's a nice theater song about a Thespian. Told him the title of this song, he had already initiated the speakers before I could tell him it may have been a little tough for most 7th graders at that time, and the full stage was blasted with this song's opening. Nobody who had bore witness to that event spoke to me again until after entering high school.

this music makes me feel sooooo good :') this specific album is literal ART .... and as the years go by i enjoy it even more

I'm not a big fan of this band but I gotta give credit where credit is due. Their riffs are original and intricate. Not to mention how poetic the lyrics they write are.

This was my favorite album, I remember buying it and how happy I am and still am with it! Alesana will always be my favorite band. Reminds me of my emo days as well 💁🏻 also I had the biggest crush on Shawn 😭❤️

The sad part is I completely forgot about this song, today over 10 years later it came on a random playlist and knew every word 😂

Okay people who think the video is racist: This song is off of The Emptiness which is a CD in which songs have a backup story that is based on Dante's Inferno. The black character is the guy's demon that contributed to his beloved's death, not an act of racism. Actually this video captures the storyline quite well. You should read this story :)

Going to remember high school by this band....

I went in to this not being able to remember any lyrics. But once the music started it all flooded back. Damn.

Was one of my favorite bands ❤ one of the most nicest bands I ever met and have seen them mutual times. Thank you for bringing light to my life when it was dark ❤ still have their autographs somewhere

2020 and listen every day

Whenever I listen to this album I’m always amazed at how smooth the transitions are between songs. In the beginning of a song I sometimes don’t even realize that the prior song had ended.

When my kids asked me what I listened to as a teenager I will proudly show this to them.

I was literally sitting in the car the other day trying so hard to remember this band and holy hell I found it!!!!! My emo childhood started with my older cousin showing me this band when I was a weee little lass this song brings back so many many memories

I used to think I was the coolest goth kid ever because I listened to these guys.

My favorite video ever. Pure art.

It's been a long time ago since I heard this song, or the band itself. I was feeling quite down and suddenly I remembered: "Tell me I'm forgiven say you'll always be mine. Say that everything is over, tell me I'm fine..." and I instantly came here and felt like home.

It fills me with hope the fact that there's still some amazing artists like these nowadays.
