Altough it's just my assumption that the words are the same as i dont speak the language. But it is impressive how the song still has almost the same rhythm as the original even though it's sung in an entirely different language. I would've thought that certain words would never be able to rhyme when translated. Amazing.

The translation is almost identical, with some minor adjustments for proper rhythm. Though to Mandarin listeners, some wording choices could be a bit awkward. I’d personally wish for more modifications to the lyrics, while maintaining the underlying meaning.

I’ll never forget the wonderful songs he’s made for us. His songs are so beautiful, and i’m in love with his mandarin covers. I don’t speak it YET, but mandarin had got to be the most beautiful language ever. His pronunciation is great and I hope I can get to that point some day

The lyrics are actually not identical. They have the same general gist, but the actual lyrics are not at all the same. It's not a sort of loose translation. (For example, this version doesn't directly mention ghosting friends.) It is going for the same general meaning, and it's actually pretty cool how close it came to the original considering having to rhyme. This is coming from someone who can speak English and Mandarin, so I didn't just use Google Translate.

Wow, it's amazing that I heard an Alec Benjamin song when I was studying abroad in China! But at the time, the song was in English. Now that I'm back in the US, he is singing more of his songs in Mandarin, a language I now understand xD
