Evidence that could have been used by defense in 1)an attempt to impeach witnesses or 2) an attempt to establish a chain of custody leading to a person who was responsible for placing the round on set which led to it being loaded into the gun and then fired. The fact is that the evidence was related to the case, the prosecution didn’t disclose it and therefore the defense had no opportunity to even consider how it might factor into their representation of the defendant. What if that evidence could have been investigated and they found that someone had conspired to place the live ammo in the gun? It would change the entirety of not only Baldwin’s case but also the case of Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. It still might impact an appeal in her case too.

Also the person who turned over the ammo (which was not a box - just to set the facts straight) was already known to the prosecutor, and the police AND the person who turned it over plainly told the sheriff’s office that it was related to the “Rust case” as seen in the bodycam footage which was introduced as evidence during the motion to dismiss hearing.

Dismissed WITH prejudice means they cannot refile the case against Baldwin.

It's not an actors job to check all the props on a movie set. He should have never been charged. It was a horrible & tragic accident. Negligence on the part of the person in the crew responsible for preparing the guns, not the actor.

It helps when you are part of the establishment

So why did they admit the ammo box into evidence at all? Morrissey is saying it wasnt for Rust. What was it for then? Is all ammo evidence of an unknown crime? Should I go turn my ammo now? I think not. They got caught burying evidence, plain and simple. The Detective admitted on the stand they all agreed to handle it this way. Regardless of the politics this is wrong.

He said, “dismissed without prejudice” and he said “dismissed with prejudice”, so which is it?

During the recorded ruling by the Judge, it was dismissed with prejudice. According to the Judge, jeopardy had attached since the jury was seated and testimony had started and the error that might have otherwise been less damaging to the defense (her words, not mine) required the dismissal with prejudice. That means, he cannot be charged again for the same alleged crime.

The ammo that was in question had nothing to do with alec baldwin handling a weapon negligently. Not one thing! And it was not kept from the defense intentionally. You could tell this morning before any of this happened the judge was on the take.

Yes the evidence was kept from defence intentionally, it’s on video. It shows law enforcement and the lead prosecutor intentionally covering up the evidence.

How Alec Baldwin handled an intended cold weapon is not relevant as it is meant to be a prop gun when cold and he can act out his scenes and what not.

​@@kishkin8743the woman who was in charge of handling the fake bullets knowingly brought onto the sets real bullets in her bag without telling anyone knowing and then took out 2 real bullets out of her bag , knowing those 2 bullets from her bag is real then eventually got those 2 real bullets mixed up with the Fake ones without telling anyone .

Dismissed with prejudice, which means the case is over. The prosecution blew it by mismanaging the discovery process.

You may hate the man, what he stands for, and the things he's done. But how in the world was this man responsible for manslaughter? How was he negligent? How was he reckless? How was this through an emotional response? Any conviction would be as political as Trumps conviction.

Jean, if a gun was pointed at YOU in a movie, you would want the guy holding the gun to see if a bullet was in it. Like Carvin said above, Alex would have wanted a gun holder to check if a bullet is in it if he was to be shot in a movie. Take a Gun Safety class.

Trump should be in prison

The charges should have been dismissed. He should never have been charged. This was another example of the lawfare we see today. It seemed obvious that as an actor he is relying on others to do their job & the props staff didn’t. Thank God for honest judges who are willing to still follow the law.

They've had this "technicality defense" in their pocket for a year. They knew they would do this. They just needed enough time to pass that people would not notice when they let him off. We will never know if he knew the ammo was wrong. We will never know if someone on the set made this mistake on purpose or by accident. We will never know. I pray for the family of the victim, and I pray for Alec, as I'm sure he will carry the FACT that he shot a co-worker and killed her, and wounded another if I remember correctly. I would probably NOT take roles where guns are on the set, and certainly never held by my character again.

On a movie set, the armorer is responsible for all firearms and ammunition. Yes, Baldwin should have never pointed a gun at someone and shot, but there was supposed to be a blank round in the firearm. How did a live round get on set? That was not Baldwin's fault, and he should not be found liable for the armorer's lack of responsibility.

Don't know how many innocents are in prison because of these kind of prosecutors. Shame!
