Came here to understand my alcoholic (ex) boyfriend a little better. I left him yesterday. He’s my best friend in the entire world and I love him more than I have ever loved anyone. It breaks my heart to leave him, but he’s dragging me down with him. I wish he would just make it go away so that I could have the real him back.

Hi. I came here because of the same thing. My husband of less than two years decided he needed to leave because he needs help. This was the best man and best relationship I have ever had but the addiction is slowly killing it. I’m hurt; this is so sad. Good luck on your journey.

He isn't likely to change his drinking habits. You have to save yourself. I've often seen these types of relationships only get more difficult.

I love listening to your knowledge about recover and am a subscriber. What I don't like is hearing about marijuana and shrooms. I have 2 months sober from all mind altering substances. Have a great day. I look forward to more of your videos

Well fuck this video was recommended to me and I have no idea how KZread knew. I've been drinking and smoking other things for nine years. My throat is permanent sore now. Been in the hospital 4 times. I'm 29 years old as of November 17th 2021. I have no friends or family to help me with this. Yeah, I never control it. I get so drunk that I lose days entirely and it's fucking up my job. My boss has told me he will help me and showed me, of all things, a TikTok. He didn't fire me, he told me he loves me and to take the day off. So here I am.

I will say. It's so weird. I don't get the shakes. I'm probably beyond stage 3 of Alcoholism for sure. No hangovers, just waking up drowning in my own lack of saliva (extreme dehydration), know and have had my higher power experience of salvation, and I can easily backtrack without care of anything, after having had a beautiful life presented to me. Why have friends? Why even try to date? Why trust in anything or anyone? I'm only going to ruin everyone that comes into my life.

I’m watching Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot. So far so good. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hahahaha. I'm laughing not because I'm an a**hole. I'm laughing because damn, that whole crontol/enjoy thing, I had never heard it. It is me rn. I know the steps. I know my HP. And yet, I am still following that obsession. I'm drinking "slower", to see if I can do this, for the 1000th time. I'm trying to control it, doing a good job, but what about when I run out of my 211 Steely? 🤔 Probably the obsession to find the money, or con someone into giving me enough to keep drinking, which ironically, I can't do that anymore bc i know about Karma.

I’m always sober but I like observing what drugs (alcohol included) do to people and seeing how different drugs intoxicate and harm people differently. I never desire or hope to start drinking hard alcohol or smoking potent intoxicating thc marijuana. Neither will my mind even consider touching anything else, including Shrooms which is somehow statistically safer than marijuana.

I’m 30 and I drink a big and small bottle of gin every day it’s hell I don’t even know how I do it ? Then wake up in agony every time with sweaty hands and feat seeing spiders jumpy lost the feeling in my little fingers . Got to aa meeting. I know it’s horrible to say but the more desperate you are the more hope I seem to get .I just don’t see how I can go the rest of my life being sober . I never ever enjoy it theses days . All my stomach aches crippling back pain .

Absolutely I think it's a self centered disease. A disease of self. That's why the treatment involves helping others and making amends to others. We're recovering from the trauma of having this condition of addiction.
