AC/DC's "Back In Black" 50 + million sales (10 million alone in the U.S.), only 2nd to Thriller. Full of perfect classic hard rock (Hells Bells, Shoot To Thrill, Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Rock N Roll Ain't Noise Pollution). A fitting tribute to the late, great Bon Scott.

Well what a year this was for music....it is my favourite of the decade for these reasons.... 1 Scary Monsters Bowie 2 Making Movies Dire Straits 3 Doc at the radar station Captain B 4 Crocodiles by Echo and b 5 Seventeen seconds The Cure My special mentions could take all day so just the cream here....I have to let you know that blizzard of Oz was released in 1980 in the UK so it gets my mention here, Along with special stuff like, Iron Maiden's debut, Remain in Light, Closer, Double Fantasy, Back in Black, Heaven and Hell by Sabbath....Kaliedescope Siouxie and the Banshees.....Ultravox Vienna and Devos Freedom of Choice are my guilty pleasures... Oh and as promised just ordered 3 Rush albums ...moving pictures, hold your fire and 1980s Permanent Waves.... so will give them some long deserved time. Great channel guys!👍👍

What a great story about how you met , based on your love of Rush . I especially like that because I used to see them in the clubs around Toronto before they released their first record . British Steel another I would have in my top 10 that didn't immediately come to mind. Though I think it does drop off significantly on side 2.

The Seventies were Springsteen's heyday, for sure, but he's still released some strong music since then. The title track from his 1982 LP 'Nebraska' is harrowing and haunting, like no other song in the rock canon I know, and "Atlantic City" is another memorable track from that album. Also, "I'm on Fire", the sixth track on his 1984 album 'Born in the U.S.A.', is one of his most poignant utterances, as heartrendingly emotional as anything else he's crafted.

@@barrymoore4470 You're probably right. I was so disappointed by The River that I just couldn't enjoy him anymore. It was like those breakups where if you're walking down the street and you see the other person coming your way, you both look away and pretend they're not there. I just didn't want anything to do with him after that, and I'm sure I missed some good stuff. But our lives were going in different directions by then.

Nice list, chock full of great albums. Several have overlapped on my own including XTC at number 1, X, The Damned, The Cure, The Sound, more............forgot about those great albums from Devo and Squeeze.

Holy heck! You guys left off back in black- women and children first and duke and British steel. I wouldn’t have thought it was possible between the 3 of you. But your lists are still good, I forget who said it but you’re spot on about heaven and hell. Truly lightning in a bottle. I’ve never gotten sick of this album and it’s been 43 years, how depressing, I was about to become a sophomore in high school😢dang I’m getting old, but not too old to still love this album😊
