Albinoni Adagio in g minor for strings and organ/ U Norberg/T Ringborg/Royal Stockholm Philharmonic

The music known as Albinoni’s Adagio was in fact composed by Italian music researcher Remo Giazotto, who was a specialist in Albinoni. Giazotto claimed that he started from a fragment of a melody by Albinoni that has since disappeared, but everything else indicates that he actually composed it himself in the style of Albinoni.
Tomaso Albinoni was a highly prolific opera composer, but of his 51 operas, only five were preserved. He also composed church music, worldly cantatas, chamber music and solo concertos.
