My best friend and I were there last October. We didn't get to see the lights but hopefully when I go back I can see them. Loved my trip to Alaska

The dead of Winter is when I'd like to visit. Take a drive to the Arctic Circle to see the Northern Lights too. Been twice to Alaska, but in Summer, 2017 and 19. Dipped in the Arctic Ocean at Prudhoe Bay in '19.

Fun fact , the ice motel gets rebuilt every year ( due to melting ) , differently then it was previously. :) So every year there is something new and different to see.

Sorry, but I think maybe this is media misinformation, or you are thinking of another place. I worked there several seasons over 8 years. The museum is housed in a temperature controlled building, so even in the summer it stays frozen. It is still certainly an interesting place, and yes each year is different. :) Cheers

Hi Minzy, Typically our late winter and early spring is the best time to view them. They recommend Feb-beginning of April for the best viewing as well as further north. This was in Fairbanks Alaska which is about 7 hours North of Anchorage

What was the name of the tour company you did that cat ride with? We are coming to Fairbanks soon and would like to do that!

Usually Nov-April is the best time to see them (they seem to be most active Feb-April). Did you know there is also the Southern Lights in Australia that have different colors?!

Do you recommend seeing the lights on Fairbanks or chena hot springs?

You can see them in both places actually. Just get a little outside of Fairbanks to reduce the light pollution and they will be very visible
