Awesome video, I want to get one of these myself!
Thanks Steve. The saw is an old seized MS660 with an aftermarket 100cc barrel and piston. The bar is a 24 inch, 1.3 mm gauge for a narrower faster cut. The chain is an 84 drive link STIHL picco ripping chain and the saw is running an 8 tooth 3/8” sprocket to raise the chain speed. Hope this helps. A
Thanks. Go for it. It’s great fun! A
Hi Alex. I would suggest a max of around a 12 inch cut for a 50 cc saw. You’re right. There’s no substitute for cc’s, but if you get a massive saw they are expensive and have limited other uses. I will post another video shortly on an excellent saw mill that produces square 4 inch posts using almost any saw. A
Excellent video and beautifully explained Andy, what chain and bar are you using just for the record?
Fantastic Andy with your usual attention to detail. Is a saw of that size a minimum for this sort of work? Or is just a case of minimising strain by going as big as you can? Cheers
