Alaska’s stunning and unique Homer spit!

The Homer Spit, is a natural formation jutting into Kachemak Bay for nearly five miles. This narrow strip of land offers breathtaking views, recreational activities, shops, galleries, restaurants, and accommodations, altogether making it a delightful destination. It is definitely one of the most unique places to experience Alaska's rugged beauty.
Note: The earthquake mentioned was the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake which measured 9.2 on the Richter scale. The sandy spit was prone to liquefaction and some estimates are that today the spit is half its original width.
