This could change in the future, but personally, I really enjoyed this ship. People focussed me out right away because it's a brand new premium and they want to make you feel bad for spending money, but I had a really good time with it. It's not as op as everyone suggests, but it felt a bit like playing Scharnhorst, but with radar.

I think a big difference between Congress and Alaska is that Alaska has access to reload mod. So the difference between the base reload of both ships fully upgraded is more like 18 vs 22 seconds, which is a big difference in damage output considering that Congress already has 2 fewer guns than Alaska.

For me the most possible impact you can have to a match with a Congress is to support your DD in the first minutes of a match. Use your Radar to push enemy DD's out of a cap and save the cap this way. Then you are in charge, maybe the pressure is to the enemy and you will find some ships showing broadside to you. I had fun with this ship. 82% win rate, 11 battles.

That last nature scene at the end always gives me +20 mental health points.

Congress is not reliant on ap in my experience, her HE hurts like crazy, and her AP is consistent. The only thing that kills the ship for me is the 60 second burn, I am using damage con equips to lessen fires but they still end up being the majority of damage received.

Surprise, she really doesn't seem to be a all that great ship. Guess a double penalty on reload and than the loss of 2 guns really hurts.

Did not see it in the comments, but when you penetrate a secondary/aa gun you get the full pen badge, but you do only 10% of the DMG. That was improvement over how it worked before where it did not HP damage to the ship.

This is a solid Tier VIII ship. It can detect basically anything and has really good firepower.

i play it as a BB/battle cruiser and its ace, citadel and cruiser kill 1st game. very happy with her, she's not for cruiser players, she's a BB main who wants a faster more agile BB

Honestly, you'd be better off to wait till November to get Alaska B.

Overpen damage with a full pen ribbon has been a thing for a long time. Happens with all ships occasionally.
