Alaska: Anchorage to Seward - Travel Film

---
🔻 MY NEW CHANNEL FOR TRAVEL CONTENT STARTING IN 2024
/ @theskyelounge
Bordering both the pacific and arctic ocean, Alaska has 40,000 miles of shoreline. It’s the largest territory owned by the United States and one of the fishing and freight capitals of the world. If there’s one word to describe Alaska, it’s infinite. Whatever records other U.S. states hold, Alaska will probably beat them. It’s just that massive. Welcome to an endless paradise of rivers, glaciers, active volcanos, beaches, islands, and more animals than any of us can count. If you like being outside and living life on the edge, this is the perfect place for you. Tag along with my wife and I as we embark on a 10 day road trip from Anchorage to Seward. Whale watching, hiking, fishing, glaciers, breweries, and mingling with the locals are all on the agenda. Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy the ride.

I am a lifelong Alaskan born and raised in Anchorage, and I must say that this documentary is probably the most realistic depiction of (summertime) Alaskan life I have seen. You hit all the major spots in Southcentral AK, interacted with the locals a lot, and didn't pronounce any of our place names incorrectly like 90%+ of other documentaries do. Kudos to you, especially for talking to the locals. Us Alaskans are more than used to tourists visiting, and most all of us are more than happy to show off & share our state with those who aren't fortunate enough to live here. There are some people who wait their whole life to be able to visit Alaska, and it's so easy to take this beautiful state for granted when you live here all the time. Your documentary makes me realize how lucky I am. Thank you.

This is the kind of feedback that wakes me up in the morning and keeps me going. Thank you for recognizing my interest in the people. I know it is not about just how beautiful a place is but the people who make it up. Everyone has a story to tell and I just want to hear them. Alaska is my favorite place to date. I can not wait to return and hope to connect with more locals like yourself who can teach me more.

Hey man, great film. Gorgeous photography! I’m so envious of that trip! I’ve spent some time out in BC and Alberta. So epic. The mountains and rain forests are mind boggling. Did some diving on the coast and loved it. I’d like to go to Yukon and Alaska someday. That would be very special. The state of the fisheries and the effects of global warming are very disturbing though. Saw it myself. My dream was to make it to Auyuittuq National Park on Baffin Island. Mount Thor is there. That’s not the easiest trip though.

Too funny . I just discovered your channel & commented on your Belize trip , Belize is where I currently live . Oddly enough the next video on your list I’m watching mentions William Seward . When I was growing up the rear parking lot of my father’s restaurant in Florida NY.had a barn , that is the very barn where William Seward was born on may 16th 1801 , he purchased Alaska for a penny an acre in 1867 after his term as Secretary of State under president Lincoln in 1865 , when Seward was fatally attacked & lived while president Lincoln was killed . I didn’t find this out in school , I found out from a plaque in front of our restaurant lol 😆

..a good well rounded video of the local region, but lacks depth where living here full time for more than 65 years might portray to a flash-in-the-pan instant visitor one may discover shopping in Anchorage Walmart, in route to their dream vacation by bus to Denali Park; from Europe.. Where I've lived here most times, getting water in winter is a problem and wells are impractical, costly and deep; to just get salt water, more often than not! An nearest neighbor is usually 20 miles away, who has a good spring that does not freeze due to better designed water box for subzero deep freeze reality; the other side of global warming reality I've seen since 1960, and witness ancient ice fields evaporate due to very changed weather factors across all former seasonal boundaries.. Hatchery fish restocked streams or for derby uses, are often smaller than wild runs of prior seasons, as other factors also change. And I still haul water in a small town, but that is being impacted by development by those who have no idea of how they impact longer term survival.. I grew up in east Kenai Mts near Seward, before 1964 AK EQ and helped clean oily beaches from 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill disaster; I kept finding oil, so I was told I had completed my term of employment. The spill cleanup was said to be done at least five times; but still I could find crude oil, layered in tidal rolls on the Kenai Fjords Nat'l Park beaches near Homer, out from Seward. I'm still here.. But I don't walk on those beaches anymore. ~ small town AK-USA 🇺🇸🐟☃🌦🐻❄💮

How much money did it cost? Not as much as you would think. We got super cheap airfare which is why we ended up there. I think it was only $300 round trip per person during this time of covid. Also we stayed for 5-6 nights free for trading some advertising with some of the hotels.
