I'm so grateful to have directed this music video for Alanis all those years back. The concept was her idea and Liz Gazzano (the producer) and Sterling Storm (the art director) and I all made it happen. It was difficult, but a joy. And Alanis was amazing to work with. An inspired young artists to say the least. Thank you Alanis for such a great song.

Jagged little pill is one of the best albums of all time! It's crazy to think she wrote these songs in less than 30 minutes each at just 19 years old. To me, Alanis is in my Mount Rushmore of top musicians of all time!

@@arielmedrano8098. Yeah, it's one of the extremely rare albums where each & every song is amazing, yet, she still had to fight in order to make this album. Her label wanted more "radio pop type music" being that she was apart of Canadian's version of Disney/Nickelodeon type of shows as a kid. She wanted to distance herself from that child like image & create music about real issues. At only 19, the fact that she was able to reinvent herself & create one of the best albums of all time is absolutely amazing!

It was a good time I'll always miss but I'll always listen to mostly 90s music and pre 90s because I like good music

And what it all comes down to is Alanis Morissette is one hell of an artist.

Living in a time full of bad news and pictures of death, hate and catastrophes, this song and this video help me to believe, that mankind and life are not lost at all. And in my own life, after a year of sadness, and even today, maybe losing a beloved person, this song about life itself and its diversity and up and downs gives me hope - and always makes me cry, in a positive way. Thank you so much for making this!!!

JAGGED LITTLE PILL is one of those albums that I listen to start to end, no skip! Truly a masterpiece. The 90's is really the golden age of pop music, boybands, girl groups and divas!

Tremayne Tyler Lorde was 17 when she dropped her fantastic debut album, as was Billie Eilish when hers dropped earlier this year. My sneaking suspicion is that there’s far more young talent out there than we’d realize, if only the major labels had more faith for something that pushes boundaries, rather than their tendency to settle for middlingly, mediocre music that all sounds so damned cookie-cutter-esque (due to so much of it being produced by the same few people). In the more classic vein, I think that most, if not all, of U2 were still teens when they released their fantastic debut album Boy; and, weren’t the Beatles barely 20 when they first started playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg?

This song simply has so much Bob Dylan charm and at the same time so much Alanis Morisette voice that it can only be an all-time favorite.

I love how this song appeals to all people of all walks of life. How can one song represent joy, remorse, sadness, and healing all at once. Every single moment, exemplified by these beautiful lyrics. It truly is a timeless classic, reminiscent of other greats like “Tiny Dancer”, “Viva La Vida”, and “Like a Rolling Stone”. Amazing!

My favorite song by this extremely gifted singer

I’ve known this song for over two decades but these lyrics hit different when you’re a frontline healthcare worker in two LA hospitals during covid. After knowing this song for a couple decades I heard it differently today. I’m young and I’m underpaid...I’m sane but I’m overwhelmed...I care but I’m restless...im sad but I’m laughing...I’m tired but I’m working...IM BRAVE but IM CHICKEN SHIT! Keep pushing healthcare workers! Listen to this anthem 💪🏼

Thank you. My little brother got COVID-19 November 2020 and was on a ventilator for almost 2 months. We almost lost him twice but he pulled through.

You listened to her in the 90s as a kid and liked it but didn't know why. Now... she's fucking phenomenal. That voice and the lyrics. It's a billion times better now and makes sense. Can't even explain it.

She is awesome, helped me thru a few rough spots. 90s turned out to be hell for me, struggle. I heard hr and all I needed was headphones😂

I have listened to this song so much this year.. makes more sense today then ever before.. ✌🤘

Music from this era just always felt unique to me. Like all the big hit songs always seemed so different. Now a days I cant honestly tell if i'm listening to a song on my car radio, or if my engine is about to explode.

One of my favorite artist from the ‘90’s. Lyrically, she’s a god in my book. I stole this album from my sister. It went missing from my stereo. Found it in my moms car lol. Great memories.

Alanis Morissette, Blues Traveler, and Hope Sandoval (Mazzie Star) have never made the harmonica sound so good.

You can feel the good intent, the good will, the good vibe, the good energy of this song, of her singing!! In the actual times, very few artists have this kind of thing!!! I was having a rough time through emotions this week, and just listening to this made me feel better!!!

I like her music more now than before!! Her too!!

I loved her back as a kid growing up in the 90's and I love her even more now. This song is truly amazing. Listening to it now it just hits me the way it was meant to. Alanis you are truly amazing and I will always love you. I wish we could go back to the 90's. I'd hand all the technology over to get what we lost from those times.

I was fully obsessed and dependant on this album for a full year. I couldn't study or do anything productive. It was the best thing i ever heard and came at the right time in my life. Yeah i can tell you ppl just had to deal with it being played at all hours lol it described my mood and emotions so well.

Remember riding to family or school events listening to this! OMG!!! WHAT a simpler time! OMG!!!!

I just heard this song after so many years gone by and I was surprised by the emotions that it evoked. It reminded me of raising my son who was little at the time by myself, working in Silicon Valley and always struggling but I would sing the part "I really haven't got it figured out just yet" at the top of my lungs. Fast forward some 25 years later, I'm married, my son has a beautiful life, and everything really did turn out quite alright, so I've got one hand in my pocket and the one is giving a peace sign!! Thanks Alanis ❤❤

I remember my Mum had this CD and I’d always ask to listen to it. And now I blinked and I’m almost twice the age Alanis was when she wrote this album. And here I am writing a comment like this that I used to always see older people writing on KZread. You know when you think, ahh I’ll never be that old, time goes so slow! It really, really doesn’t.

May 2023 and I’m still listening to this song and the whole album. Classic, ❤

Josh Toms i know. Sure that Avril writes simplistic lyrics but they are relatable and you can relate to them. It's like Avril is reading your diary haha plus Avril sings better than Alanis no offense. Avril can play instruments too like guitar, piano, drums, bass and mandolin. Alanis is above Avril when it comes to songwriting. Alanis and Liz Phair are equal.
