Alanis Morissette - Guardian (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
Музыка
"This video is a tip of the hat to Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire (it is the 25th anniversary of the film having been released). the full circle poetry of my having written 'uninivited' for itsremake, combined with my love of the original movie, combined with my love of Germany, having lived there for three years as a child (by the Black Forest) combined most importantly with how this video is such a visual extension of the song 'guardian', which is so close to my heart....it was so much fun to make it in Berlin! i think it really shows how the parent/guardian angel role are linked....how, ultimately, a powerful inner parent calls upon spirit to guide her/his choices on the loved ones' behalf...whether it is for a child, a friend, or an inner child...this love and this grace is available to everyone." - Alanis

I’m here tonight for the same reason but because this is the song I sang to my newborn 9 years ago and now I’m trying to find a reason to live I’m going through so much and in so much pain. I’m not ready to die But her voice heals eh?

@@Lillpixeychic Hang in there, we all face great storms in our life. You will find a way! I only now see the end of the storm I too have been going through since the end of 2017 to the moment of this very post but soon to end. It could have taken me, there were moments that I almost let it. Yet here I stand having pushed through, treaded water, and suffered countless moments alone in solitude. Betrayed, my purpose removed, my identity shattered, financially destroyed, and my family laying in waste, by the one I would have died for... It took a lot the push through it, to find a new purpose, to rebuild my life, and find a way to accept the derailment of so many years of effort by someone I cared deeply for but let me tell you it is possible to heal. I wish you well!!!
i miss those days when artists like Alanis rule the music scene, true artist that is. Unlike today, some "singers" are there just for popularity and greed for attention. They don't even write their own lyrics. No heart and no connection. 90's baby here and proud of it. I love you Alanis....keep rocking and inspiring....

This song has always moved me to tears , not one time I would listen to it without crying . Probably because it talks directly to the inner part of me as of many , as we are all wishing for a loving sweet guardian but mostly need to realize that this guardian can only be ourselves in the end . Dedicated to myself today - and to all those with an immensely broken heart .

Alanis, I lost my mom last year and if it weren't for your words she would not have died at home, surrounded by all that loved her. I want you to know that you have given me the ability to see the well of strength within me when all I want to do is just lay down forever and retreat from the world. You have taught me to love every part of me even the parts people don't want to like. You have shown me the love and humility that humanity has to offer. I am battling my own chronic illness now and I will never stop listening to your words Alanis, since my youth, pre Jagged Little Pill, I'm talking Too Hot and You Cant Do that on Television era, I have adored your presence and wait in anticipation for what you have to show the world. Thank you for your bravery and self work Alanis. This song is now me singing to my mother the way she once sang to me. I love you with all that I am Alanis. Thank you for all the words!

Looking at the ticket prices makes me so sad. My only hope is that those rich and privileged people that can afford to go are the kinds of people who can and will help make the changes we need as a species. I'm heartbroken I can't afford to go. I will be there in Spirit, and maybe we will be lucky enough to have someone do a full recording (WITH SOUND) LIKE THE FOO FIGHTERS JUST HAD.

After almost ten years, this song still gets me the goosebumps, it's so poweful and deep. I love it!! Am I the only one?
I am always listen to it when I am in chronical pain. Gives me power to stay positive and reminds me of the things in life that are really worth it. Family and the people I really love.
I've wondered as I watched Alanis grow from pop sensation to the angst of dealing with love and life to an inspiration. A true artist.
Beautiful, Alanis! I am from Hamburg, Germany, and when "Jagged little pill" came out, I listened to it a lot. I guess, I loved your "Former...." Album most. "Thank u" and "Joining you" really were Songs, in wich I felt understanding of myself, and they helped me through the years of the millennial. So I can say, you are one of my guardians. But more than that, I would like to say, you are my sister in going through all of these wandering times. We're almost the same age, I guess. I was born in '76.
I hope Alanis read me ... since I heard this song just released the video I was so excited to associate it with someone in my life that I will never forget and it will be in my heart and in my soul, my mother ..... I felt that you had written it for me and every time I heard it I started crying ... Thanks Alanis for having done this song means a lot in my life, I love you ...

I love this song by Alanis Morissette !!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
You, you who smiled when you’re in pain You who soldiered through the profane They were distracted and shut down So why, why would you talk to me at all Such words were dishonorable and in vain Their promise as solid as a fog And where was your watchman then I’ll be your keeper for life as your guardian I’ll be your warrior of care, your first warden I’ll be your angel on call, I’ll be on demand The greatest honor of all as your guardian You, you in the chaos feigning sane You who has pushed beyond what’s humane Them as the ghostly tumbleweed And where was your watchman then I’ll be your keeper for life as your guardian I’ll be your warrior of care, your first warden I’ll be your angel on call, I’ll be on demand The greatest honor of all as your guardian Now no more smiling mid crest fall No more managing unmanageables No more holding still in the hailstorm Now enter your watch woman I’ll be your keeper for life as your guardian I’ll be your warrior of care, your first warden I’ll be your angel on call, I’ll be on demand The greatest honor of all as your guardian

Love you, Alanis! Your amazing poetry set to beautiful music has helped me through the darkest days of my life. Thank U!
Special voice beautiful tone quality with a raw, honest delivery. Sometimes with an even slightly annoying nasality when reaching for higher notes. And with unmatched lyrics, it all comes together in near perfection. She was one of my very favorite female singers when I was growing up. Now, I watch all of her music videos and am amazed at her amazing talent! Infact, Alanis is coming to Hawaii for a performance and i'm going to see her perform at her very best! Chee Hoo! We welcome you, Alanis Morissette, with all love and Aloha! Would love to see you & IAM perform, "Guardian" together!
I never stopped loving this woman.
Most songs you fall in love with take time to sink in. Every listen makes the song sink a little deeper into you until it's a 'favorite' Then there is the rare song that, the first time you hear, it's right there. Boom. This is one of those songs. First time I heard it, I was thunderstruck. Truly an amazing song.
To all 90's young and children Alanis Morristte was 'The Woman' in music and I was so happy when she made this song about 15 years later on... Her music is just so strong in emotion.
I’ve never heard this song until Iam Tongi sang it on American Idol. I had to check out the original by the Queen- of course she did not disappoint!!!
