2023 all here?
Alan is so elegant.
Alan wilder is why DM used to be on another level. He was like an editor. He would tweak and tighten Martin Gore's music. The cherry on top. It's a real shame that the rest of the band members didn't appreciate him enough to keep him.

Me too! I love Alan Charles Wilder. He is HOT.
Alan is a genius and is my favourite member of depeche mode
I can just watch him all day and won't get tired of seeing and hearing him speak.
Alan has a soothing nice voice
Dave just dedicated Black Celebration to Alan at the concert last night in Brooklyn, NYC! This song reminds alot of people of Alan due to this 101 documentary.
@blueroses7935

I hope so much that that's true, especially since I'd never have imagined Dave saying anything so positive in recent times. He used to talk positively about Alan, saying he wished that he'd have fought for him to stay; however, in more recent years, Dave's comments (esp. in an interview last year) indicated that he was sick of hearing about Alan and that people need to stop 'living in the past' 😔

@blueroses7935 I was so terribly angry to hear Dave in that interview. But the more they are sick of Alan’s fans, THE MORE WE LOVE ALAN!❤️
he's sooo handsome and articulate.
Why is is that none of us can get over this adorable man? It’s as if everyone wishes they could hold onto that time in DM’s history. If only time machines were easily accessible.....

Alan Wilder will always be missed and loved. Wonder if he'll show up for any of the DM shows when they come to the UK.

Mine too. People make fun of this saying everyone fast forwards or goes to the bathroom, but I paid great attention to it. dear god alan wilder is an absolute genius, i started getting emotional after this clip ended i don’t know why? i guess i’m just overwhelmed by his intelligence. truly unique, would love to talk to him for hours as a respected musician and ask him all sorts of questions pertaining to life, music, and so forth :)
This is so cool...We have to remember that Gore did wrote most of his song playing the guitar. But without Alan and all his work to make Depeche sound the way they did this band would never ever be close to the sucess they actually did... Thumbs up everyone who loves the two big pads he got...

that's why nowadays they sound crap and stale yet many would like to believe DM still capable of pulling hits...those days are gone with Black Celebration and Violator album... Wilder intricate layering of instrument plus his classical training really help them through after Vince left.

@@rikimarudonchelie1229 The first thing they should do is to throw away Eigners drum set. They should use a drum machine or a sampler. I think Eigners drumming just makes the songs crappier.

@@grimlund i don't know who among them ever put that kind of idea - knowing among their influences is KRAFTWERK or synth-sty;e they should have stick with it...all these kinds of experimenting try to look and break like an alternative band with drum and guitar driven style definitely not living up to their style...probably they are going to that style to discredit with less synth driven style more on edgier sounds with guitars like SOFAD Alan last album with them.

@@rikimarudonchelie1229 Maybe the live drumming was Daves idea. Remember that he is in fact much in to rock'n roll. His favorite band is the Stones. And back in the early 90:s he was very much into the grunge thing.

How I love this man!! ❤️
Look alan at 1:40 when he is asked if sometimes forgets where the sounds are allocated in the keyboard..he seems so shy and guilty!!
How he acknowledged there was a time before him when he was not part of the band shows how humble he is. And perhaps a bit foreshadowing.

Older comment here but I disagree about Fletch. I want Alan back as much as the next person but Fletch is one of the original members, even before Gahan, he and Martin are the reason why DM exists. And I feel like you have to give him credit for that. Without him the band would be nothing. I think it's easy to say, as a fan, that such and such members of the band should do such and such things but I also feel it's important to realize that they are their own people with their own wants and needs. DM obviously didn't appreciate Alan enough and I think it was fair for him to leave given the state the band was in at the time of his departure.

I´ll tell this, Andy owns the Depeche Mode name, he contributes absolutely nothing to Depeche Mode but "unfortunately" he founded the band and as I wrote he owns the name, different points of view about this and yes, I prefer Alan Wilder than Andy but this is the fact he can´t be rejected of the band.
