I was lucky that I got to see Michael James Scott as Genie in the short time that he was in London in August 2018. He really got a charisma and could belt even higher notes than James Monroe Iglehart. There was a problem with the curtain in the beginning, so we sat for extra 10 minutes, until we resumed with him improvising "Now, where was I?" and we all laughed in the theatre.

I think it’s already recorded, it was supposed too be put on Disney plus at one point in 2022 after the anniversary of the original Aladdin movie but it didn’t happen

No hes Michael James Scott, who was originally James understudy when the show began and originated the role in the Australian company, left that company to go on the national tour and also played briefly on the West End. He also originated a Role in Book of Mormon and was the Minstrel in a great show called Something Rotten, performed in the revival of Hair and many other amazing shows I believe hes probably the one who has played the Genie the longest - and hes amazing. Yes, hes no James or Major but hes great in his own unique way - that’s the great thing about the Genie - each actor gets to be genuinely themselves in the role
