Initially I thought there’s no any elders in Oyo that knows the truths of the origin of oyo empires. The baba has come to my aid for sounds clarifications and I believe him due to the fact that I have read a book that says exactly what the baba says. My respect for him and May God grant him grace to live more years on earth in good health

Quite shameful how some people could twist history. This Baba Ajiboye speaking, is he a descendant of Asipa. No! My own Grandfather was a true descendant of Asipa from Logudu family. This Baba Ajiboye's parents were from Iseyin who migrated to Oyo on business trip and settled at Isale-Oyo. It is a fact that at met Oja at Ago Oja now referred to as Isale-Oyo. Atiba settled at a place very close to Ago Oja. When Atiba made his presence known to Oja, the latter wholeheartedly welcomed Atiba recognising him as the Head of Yorubas. There has always been good rapport between Alaafins and Ashipas until the time of Ashipa Olorunkosebi. Baba Ajiboye should be asked wether all Ashipa ruling houses supported his nomination as Ashipa to be. Why was he not sworn in as Ashipa. He wanted the post of Ashipa as not Oloja of Ago-Oja. It was Governor Akala that sent a letter to him as Oloja and one yard of Cloth was hanged on two erected bamboo poles at Ashipa market indicating Oloja Palace making a mockery of sanctity of Ashipa then. Why was Akala not bold enough then to officially installed him. We Yorubas have been twisting history for personal aggrandizement. Aifagba fenikan ni ko jeki aye o gun. Yoruba ronu!

Well, having a bastard amid one great family cannot be a new thing, your father that you called a true descendant of logudu may feeds you opposite side of the story but as for someone like you to believe such history without any further the research at this present generation is a big loss for your own coming generation too because your father mislead you and you did the same to your children. Now telling us that Baba Ajiboye was from Iseyin without mentioning the linage and the family house he came from is another point for a reasonable somebody to understand your lack of senses and was inherited from your so called father, more so you may need to ask your father about (Oju ori) at abolupe and what purpose does the palace serve for the oja descendants the answer would lead you to know if your father is not a bastard too... Baba Ajiboye Is a direct blood of Oja , Oyerinde who was the first son of Oja was he predecessor ....shame on you

Oja wasn't a top brass warrior but an "Iganmode", a brave and a confident hunter and that is why his name had not been mention in any war like Kurumi of Ijaye, Iba Oluyole of Ibadan, Toyeje of Ogbomoso and many more. Even, his name was not mentioned as a revolutionary soldier the likes of Lisabi Agboungbo Akala. Oja full name is "Ojase-Efron beyan sina" and his principal remains Olufon who engaged him as an escort when they wanted to fled their old settlement to saki because of the fear that Alaafin Atiba may revenged back what Olufon Kojabe did to him. Atiba as a prince then was passing through Olufon Kojabe enclave on a horse. Kojabe was at the centre of the town relaxing with his people, Atiba did not greet Kojabe, and that infuriated him and ordered his guards to bring Atiba before him. Oba kojabe humiliated prince Atiba for his audacious behavior and later released. After this incident, Prince Atiba became Alaafin. In those days, there was internecine war between towns and villages. The Oyo warriors, asked the Alaafin Atiba, of which town to attack. Alaafin Atiba directed them to Olufon Kajobe enclave now under Olufon Olounde after the demised of Kojabe who insulted him. Olufon Olunde and his people later fled to Saki to avoid the Oyo army and feared that Atiba may revenged. Oja was part of the entourage that fled with Olufon. Oja is not part of Olufon Family and how they come about the story of Adé Aladinkun should be clearly explain. Oja doesn't have any authority to surmounted or invited the people of Epo Region who are better off as an emerging town compared to Ago . Ajo Oja was name after Ojase Efon who was engaged and fled with Olufon Olunde to saki to form of Sepeteri. Oja lack authority on Ago territory because he was never a king and you say Baale, a Baale is always a subject to the king. Alaafin is a Consenting Authority in that domain and beyond. The authority of Alaafin has never been subjected to question for more than 150 years. Now, where did they get all this story. Ojase Efon Family are well know in Saki and Sepeteri today with prominent personalities as members of their family, this is verifiable as some of their Surname is "Olorun o se bi". In the history of Yoruba, it was Kings and Wariors that has authority to lay claims to territories not an hunter. Even Bale was a subject to the King. It is King that would appoint Bale which he must be allegiance to. I think we should stop all this. Whatever transpired between Alaafin Lamidi Adeyemi and Asipa Amuda Olorun osebi I think we should allow it to leave in the past and propagate peace to move our community forward. "Bi a o ba gbagbe Ija ana o ni ri eni ba sere" Àti Atiba àti Ago, omo Yoruba kan naa ni gbogbo wa. Ife and Igbo raeni ye lo se koko. Ire o.

Ọ̀rọ̀ àmújómimọ́lẹ̀! Very few people study our history and today we fall for almost anything. It is sad. Very sad. Imagine an Englishman arguing with a fellow Englishman that so-so was king before so-so. We hide our sin under the guise of "our ancestors were not literate." Yes, they did not write it down on paper, they wrote it on their children to write it on the children that come after them. THEY WROTE IT ON US. But we have very little space left in our heads after studying the history of King Solomon and his many concubines. So bad that Yorùbá Bachelors call themselves Àpọ́n, not knowing that the name is reserved for men who lost their wives. Just as we call female widows Opó. For a group of people that argue the name of leopard in their language, how much do we know of our history and talkless of what we used to be? What do Yorùbá people call Ahéré? What do we call Àgọ́? What do we call Abà? What do we call Ìlú? What do we call Ìyá Ìlú? Like seriously! Wọlé Ṣóyínnká made a mistake when he called his generation a wasted generation. With what we have today, it is very sad to say with a grieving heart that this is a wasted race and things like this will continue until we turn the searchlight on the identity that God gave us regardless of our religion and our so-called "civilization". Thank you for your beautiful comment.

Nonsense! Why is what he said not necessary and irrelevant? It's good to know the truth irrespective of when the truth comes out. And as some people said in their comments, what has this got to do with Fulanis. Some of you may also not be aware that it was "Zik" of the Igbos that wanted "one Nigeria" so that the Igbos can take over every parts of Nigeria. Awo of the South West did not want "one Nigeria" and neither did Ahmadu Bello of the North. I know understand the reason for the civil war and the mistrust of Igbos other ethnic groups that makes up Nigeria. The Igbos are like the Asians, Jews or Lebanese. If they move into an area they want to dominate/own the place. How many Yorubas can claim to be a land owner in Igboland? But you see Igbos owning lands in Yorubaland not only in cities but in villages across Yorubaland. I an not against Nigerians of various tribes owning lands across Nigeria but not for a tribe to luck out of area because they are not from a particular tribes. I am not saying this because l have hatred for Igbos. Far from it, l have many of them as friends and my vote is going to Peter Obi because he speaks my language. So l digressed but l believe the digression is relevant to address comment made by someone who mentioned the Fulanis. I must also add that the ordinary Hausas, Fulanis who are actually Nigerians are not our problems but the intruder Fulanis, cum our elites from the various ethnic groups that make up Nigeria. They are the enemies.

O ma see, I’m pained because the civilized world we are in now does not allow us to know and research more about history and even this A3 royal media why don’t you make this interview interactive and call all oyomesi or those who knows about history of how this happened because this man is just manipulating thing, I call on the government of oyo to do the needful before it turn to ife/modakeke crises, imagine Alago oja I’m pained 😢

Records has to be set straight, Oyo Ile had ceased to exist. The present place referred to as Oyo was Ago Oja as this Baba had corroborated. Ago Oja was one the many scattered Igbo Egba settlements. Displaced Oyo people and their Alaafin are refugees in Ago Oja. It must also be noted that Alaafin Abiodun was residing in Ago Oja prior to the dismantling and exfoliation of Oyo Ile and their fabled empire. And it was him who chose to abode in Ago Oja rather than return to and rebuild Oyo Ile. History was very clear the shame and indignity that Emir Shitta of Ilorin meted on Alaafin Oluewu and the fear of Ilorin was why Alaafin Abiodun chose to remain in Ago Oja. To call Ago Oja as Oyo is a face saving move to mask the fact the heart of Oyo empire had ceased to beat forever. May Oyo and their Alaafin never rise again

Are you going to set it straight? When another Alafin is crown, are you going to court to challenge it? Ago oja was a small settlement, it changed when Oyo Ile fell to Fulani through Afonja, as Yoruba adage" Ti Ile ban toro, omo ale Ile na ko ti dagba" awon omo ale yoruba lon jade wa. This is wrong timing for this type of history, can this baba tell us of this Ago Oja was not part of Old Oyo empire and if they were not paying homage to Alafin before the fall of Oyo Ile? Anyway I am not interested in this useless history that nothing can be done about.

@@larryking1892 You've set it straight yourself in your premise that it was a small settlement and not a virgin land. You acknowledged the existence of Ago Oja. There is no denying the glory of Old Oyo empire, Ago Oja might be paying forced tribute to Oyo Ile like most towns within Western of the present day Yoruba,. However small Ago Oja was then it had a sovereign in Baale. Of course the coronation of the next Alaafin is non of business but the history is that the throne had shrunk from being king of an empire to that of a squatter in Ago Oja. All Alaafins post Abiodun were or are squatter kings or refugees. you cannot deny or eraze the fact of history that after Fulanis damage and destruction of Oyo Ile , Ago Oja was magnanimous to grant Alaafin and Oyos a refuge. We reamain forever grateful to Fulanis for not only destroying the empire but also that the heart of the empire ceases to beat forever as its glories paled into remote insignificance. Subsequent Alaafins after Oluewu were, is or will be a huge joke. Congratulation in advance to the next squatter or delusory king called Alaafin

@@ayilafola7156 I am surprised with your comments, you are happy Fulani was able to destroy Oyo Ile, I guess you are also happy now with Fulani menace around South West and other part of Nigeria. Alafin dynasty can never be destroyed or ceased as you have wished, all the Obas, Emirs, Obi or Eze or whatever you may call them are not more than squatter royalty now, none of them has any political power rather than ceremonial as the custodian of culture so Alafin is not different. Also, it maybe surprise that is one of the highest respected Royal house in Nigeria either you like or not, there is nothing the federal government will do that involves tradition that whoever that sit on Alafin throne won't be involved. Oga oja will forever remain a quarter in Oyo.. when Fulani took over ilorin there is nothing Yoruba living there can do, even till now Fulani is the Supreme leader there and all other Baloguns are under him including the house of Afonja who is now Baba Isale according to the Fulani. Anyway rest there is nothing you or the elder man talking can do about Alafin throne, it is too late now.

There is nothing worthy to remember in their oppressive history to fellow Yoruba speaking people. Do not misconstrue my hatred of everything Oyo to imply consent of the current hegemonic and monstrous activities of the Fulanis across Nigeria. Indeed, their misdeeds has come full circle before Almighty Allah and Fulanis would suffer worse fate than Old Oyo Ile. History and nature is very clear that Empires that play God gets destroyed. I am not a historian, and I am not interested what become of remnants of people of Oyo descent who live in Ilorin but I am aware that de facto power resides with the Emir of Ilorin not with Baba Oke or Baba Isale. To me, Oyo could be tactically rebuilt if those unserious Alaafin princes could shallow their pride and pull resources together and see if other Yoruba would not show them love if they reciprocate respect back to other Yoruba.
