Al Stewart - Eight Arms To Hold You
Музыка
From a November 1975 performance at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia, this is Al Stewart's version of a never written Beatles song, that was to be used as the title track for their 2nd film "HELP!". This shortlived touring band included Peter Wood (who wrote the music for Year Of The Cat) on keyboards, Snowy White (Pink Floyd touring guitarist), and Charlie Harrison (Judas Jump/Tundra) on bass... and everyone on the backing Beatles vocals and handclaps . Al Stewart wrote this song in 1965. This release is taken from the Al Stewart "Admiralty Lights 50 CD box set (used by kind permission).

He really should play this with Paul, Ringo, and Jeff Lynne!
What an amazing piece of unknown history! I love this!
This was not thought out very well. The title was originally a reference to The Beatles. There were four of them, each having two arms, so eight arms in total. In THIS song, the narrator seems to have eight arms all to himself! Is it supposed to be a prequel to "Octopus's Garden"?
It's a riff off "Eight Days a Week". No wonder he thought it sounded like a hit at the time.

@@marywealth6475 Thank you. But Al tried to sell that song to the Beatles. So, the date that Al released it may have been much later than the composition. But again, thanks. I enjoy both songs.
Terrific song. Either the Beatles ripped off Al, or vice versa.
